Lank is my character in my group's Pathfinder campaign. Born to the Churg kobold tribe, Lank had a pronounced horn, back spikes, and facial protrustions that led his tribesmen to believe he had the "blood of dragons" within him, and as he grew taller than any of his tribesman, that theory seemed to be confirmed. He was set on the fast track to become the tribe's next chieftain until, at eight years old, an incident with Bigby of Highfolk (played by
Marshtomphappy) led to him fleeing his tribe and growing up as an outcast in a town of civilized mammals with Bigby. When Bigby and Lank encountered prophetic images of themselves and their companions as proof of a great purpose to their lives, Lank jumped at the call to adventure, hoping to regain the greatness he was once set to have and wanting Bigby to come along. What he found, however, was beyond his wildest imagination.
Lank and his companions have already found themselves stopping the world from ending once, and they will need to continue their quest to prevent another potential apocalypse. They have inadvertently become the rulers of a nation of powerful dragon-descended citizens and have acquired powers in line with their divine purpose. For Lank, those powers have manifested in ways befitting his years-long desire to not be an outcast weakling and to connect with others: super strength, shapeshifting (particularly into a larger, more draconic creature), supernatural empathy, psychic possession, and entering the mental realms of those close enough to the divine to be blessed with such cognitive lands. He often finds himself playing the straight man of his group, planning the group's actions and keeping its crazier members in line as the pressure of saving the world weighs on them. Despite that, when events allow him to explore his unique talents and interests, even this ruler of the dragonfolk displays the curiosity, wonder, and borderline obsessiveness of the childhood he never had.
A huge thanks to
Dynamo-Deepblue for this reference sheet! She nailed so many little details that I've wanted to standardize across the many pictures of Lank I've received, and everything from the reference pictures themselves to the layout, font, background, annotations, and outfits are absolutely stellar. Please give her work a look if you like this style and favorite her upload at https://www.furaffinity.net/view/34854766/ to support her!

I never really thought about it being a mix of digitigrade and plantigrade. When this guy first got stuck halfway-transformed into a hulking dragon-like beast, he couldn't walk bipedal properly, and I played that up as him having plantigrade feet on a body that was meant to be supported digitigrade. Maybe you're on to something here…
