Surprise! I have more!
That's right, I worked on more drawings over the past couple of days, and now everyone gets another one, and this time, it's a character introduction!
This character idea sparked, I think, around the time Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu & Eevee! were announced. At the time, I didn't think much of them. I was still uninterested in returning to Pokémon and it wasn't a brand new game in the series but rather a re-remake of Generation 1, seemingly taking the most inspiration from Yellow Version on the Game Boy and making it even more beautiful and even easier.
But during 2018 is when I was getting out of the house more and spending more time with friends from work. I was beginning to have more conversations about topics I was into with more people, and more people to play video games with. This included Pokémon, as some of my friends at the time were interested in getting Let's Go. This raised my interest some and over the course of the year leading up to the release, I was getting more and more excited to play a Pokémon game again, so much so that I conceptualized a character to go along with it.
My love of storytelling and roleplays came very much in handy during my time playing the game, because it made the whole adventure feel so much more engaging and personal. It made my Eevee feel so special, so allow me to introduce to all of you, Chocolate.
Chocolate is an easygoing, energetic, ambitious, and very large Eevee who loves fashion and clothes, really loves flowers, and really really wants to make the most of his situation as the type of Eevee he is. He originates from the Ké Kingdom, or more commonly known as the Pokémon region of Ioa, who was starting to live on his own and figure out what he wanted to do in the world. He would get his chance in late 2018 when advertising and sign-up opportunities were taking place for a new expedition around the Kanto region, likely to increase tourism to the region. Unlike other regions known to the general public, the Ké Kingdom treats Pokémon just as independently as any other creature living there, so for Chocolate, he could sign up for the expedition in search of a Trainer to go with. Upon the selection of applications from Trainers across the planetoid, a peachy-pink Yoshi caught his attention that seemed to have a few credentials on it. The Eevee decided to take the offering and study who it was he was about to travel with, so he decides to throw caution to the wind and turn himself into a Softie, granting him the ability to shift his stance and allow him to stand on two legs, as well as participate in one of the Light Kingdom's more odd yet popular methods of travel: mail. Bidding his family, friends and home adieu from the forest, he arrives at the post office, climbs inside a box addressed to a well-known tower, and is sent on his way...
Later that day, he's opened up by none other than Kyle, who as was confirmed, applied to be a Trainer in the expedition around Kanto and the end of the year, so it was made official: these two were now a team! But in the time before, they were able to bond as friends and learn about each other's lives and home, and when the time came to travel to Kanto for the actual journey, it was a thrill. But it was also a learning experience for this fox, as Kyle had started to collect Evolutionary Stones, three of which would allow Chocolate to evolve into a Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon. Should the day come where Chocolate wanted to become something different, he had a few choices on his paws.
Or so he thought.
While on the road, now with Kyle's good friend Simon (https://www.deviantart.com/sdragon01), the two and the Yoshi's growing team of Pokémon happened to run across one of Simon's old teammates, Eric, a shiny Nidoking, who specializes in collecting Evolutionary Stones and offering them to Pokémon who are looking to evolve but need that assistance getting there. It seems that running into him was well-timed, as he had lost a couple of his stones in the immediate area, asking for help retrieving them. They agreed, and soon the group were heading off of the main trail to hunt for stones, which Chocolate picked up a Fire Stone, and while that would've triggered his evolution into Flareon... it didn't. Nothing happened even when he actively tried. It left Chocolate dumbfounded, all his life he knew he had a big choice to make further down the road into one of his [currently known] eight forms. Yet, he was apparently unable to even do so.
It was later discovered, as well as thanks to a special magician who was making appearance after appearance at Pokémon Centers all across Kanto, that Chocolate is a special type of Eevee that is incapable of evolving. While the exact reasoning is still unclear, it may have something to do with the power that Eevees possess, both in their fighting abilities and that of being able to evolve into one of various forms. Instead, these particular Eevees are instead capable of learning moves outside of their own typing, as well as special moves that this magician was able to teach him. Furthermore, Chocolate's type of Eevee are also very fast learners, so he's able to pick up a skill and grasp it extremely quick. Wishing to follow Kyle's example of remaining well-rounded, he knows the following moves:
🔥 Sizzly Slide, the Fire-type physical move that allows Chocolate to control fire. He shrouds himself in fire and charges the target with a base power of 90, and will always inflict a Burn on the target.
⚡️ Buzzy Buzz, the Electric-type special move that gives Chocolate the ability to generate small amounts of electricity in his fur. He can use that against his opponent, with a base power of 90, and will always Paralyze the target.
🌲 Sappy Seed, the Grass-type physical move that allows Chocolate to briefly control plantlife, creating a large beanstalk that rains large seeds down on the opponent, and initiates a Leech Seed on the opponent, all with a base power of 90.
💧 Bouncy Bubble, the Water-type special move that gives Chocolate the ability to manipulate water, using it to sap energy from his opponent and give it to himself, with a base power of 90.
⚪️ Veevee Volley, a special move that Chocolate can use only in specific situations, in which he uses the love of his Trainer and friends as the power in this all-out tackle complete with an explosion.
All of this together allowed Chocolate to become quite the force to be reckoned with as he and his new friends traveled the Kanto region, defeating Gym after Gym, thwarting Team Rocket's plans, and conquering the Elite Four to become the new Kanto Champion! With their mission complete, the group return home to Light Town in Ioa, where Chocolate remains with his friends, accepting that he is perhaps one of the weirdest Eevees ever to exist.
During his travels, he regained his interest in fashion thanks to the collections of clothes that were given out and bought all over Kanto, every one included a matching set for Chocolate, so he and Kyle could match during their romp. Though, at other times, Chocolate wouldn't wear anything and put on bunches of flowers across his body (usually way more than what is pictured here). His love of flowers also makes him a well-skilled gardener, and loves taking care of flowers the most of any plantlife, enjoying their variety of shapes and vivid colors, and making spring his favorite season of the year.
Chocolate is also married to a fellow fashionista, enjoys showing off his newest clothes and is never shy to go out into public with flowers coating his fur.
Chocolate's design mainly reflects his in-game appearance in Let's Go Eevee, in which when he's not wearing an outfit that reflects where he is or what he's doing, he's normally seen with the pink bouquet of flowers over his ear, the red on his chest, the orange on his lower back just above his tail, and the green along his tail, although these groups of flowers can be changed around to reflect a rainbow when placed sequentially down his body. Again, he can often be seen decorating his own body in various bunches of flowers, most of the time are seen along his tail or in his neck fluff.
I did miss a few details in this reference which I plan on fixing in the near future; I noticed it right when I finished the reference. Still, thank you for looking and reading! I hope you enjoyed! 🌸
