Puerto Rico's history and such began in 1508 centuries ago.
WW1/1920's
During WW1 it was under US influence and even very much conflict from its relationship with the US on its neutrality. In Puerto Rico, the first shot fired for the island was a German ship in 1915 at San Juan Army Bay. However, many Puerto Ricans were in the US army and
supported the allies along with the US by 1917 once America got involved.
Great Depression/WW2
During the great depression post, WW1 pier to Rico basically was at the mercy of the financial crisis along the US in the great depression. Even how US dependent on the pier to Rico was 33% by 1935. Along with 120 MPH winds that caused 225 deaths. Now in 1939 on the 1st of September to December 1941 everything for the island and Mother US nation will change.
