Tenushi is a Lion-Dog who guards an abandoned shrine located near Greenville.
Personality:
He is describe as gentle, composed and dignified. However, due to spending most of his time alone, he has poor social skills but is able to approach someone to start a conversation. He is very respectful towards the temple he is protecting as well as the gods, but can be carefree and often sleeps on the job.

In Diary of a Greenwood, Tenushi gathers people's faith and sends them to the gods through prayers and they reward him by granting him superhuman abilities, such as increasing his six senses. However, due to the temple's popularity decreasing, his powers are weakening and he will likely return to being a statue.
Tenushi is able to read fortunes, and can help people gain good fortune if they ask him politely or offer him food.

Ever since Tenushi was sculpted, he is devoted to protect the temple where he is placed for the remaining time. Aside from guarding, he also manages the temple, also setting up markets on the temple grounds during festivals which sadly very little people came, mostly tourists.
Backstory:
Tenushi was originally a Lion-Dog statue placed as a decoration for an unknown religious temple. After years of standing on the temple grounds, the gods with enough faith granted him life and devoted him as a divine beast. Human visitors never actually see him as his sentient self but rather still as a statue.
After a long period of time has passed, the temple losses it's followers and has been forgotten over time, due to the decrease of donations and the place has been left to disrepair, only leaving Tenushi to manage the place when the last remaining monk died of natural causes.
Relationships:
Robyn Greenwood
Tenushi met Robyn while she was investigating an incident and comes across the temple, which she mistakes as a shrine due to the rest of the temple has deteriorated over time. After the two fought, Tenushi loses due to the lack of followers and asks Robyn to visit the temple again with friends.
Miyuki
When he was a statue, he fell in love with a work-in shrine maiden who is referred as 'Miyuki'. When he became sentient he try he best to charm her but due to her only seeing him as his statue self, only leaves her gifts and flowers. Miyuki is implied to have been married and has died of natural causes, but has a granddaughter who also works as a shrine maiden on a inari shrine in Greenville.
Gods
Though not much is known about his relationship with the gods. He is seen talking by himself, which might be him talking to the gods since he speaks in a foreign language. He is harshly punished whenever he slacks off his job but is still devoted as the temple's guardian.
