Fox-dragon written up for 3.5 D&D.
This sneaky fox-dragon likes to lurk in the trees and snap up passers-by. He doesn't want to fight, he just wants to eat you. 83
Unlike Hialfi he can unhinge his jaws, so even Large characters aren't safe if he can get you wrapped up in his coils.

He should certainly have the DnD 'dragon' immunities (Sleep, charm, etc as immune, and then resistance to an element), because even human half-dragons get those. Seems to be a dominant trait, though half dragons usually only get an elemental resistance instead of elemental immunity.
And the question is, as a fox-dragon, should he be chasing princesses, chickens, or preferably chicken-princesses? ;) I'm sure DnD has a biped bird race out there.

Yeah, dragon-blood is /super/ dominate, oddly in everything but appearance. Half dragons usually look like the non-dragon race, with 'hints' of dragonishness. But their non-appearance based traits, like stat scores, resistances, abilities etc all take after the dragon.
Which, though I'm not much into hyper, gives me the mental image of some anthro half dragon with an oversized 'organ' explaining to his girlfriend that he 'takes after his father' that way ;)

Ah, 3.0 dragons were always the best.
Clearly this is what happens when you get a hrony green dragon in a forest: people-swallowing half-fox dragons
On the other hand: WHY does it seem like everything in D&D will gulp soeone down, excpet for the creatures famous for it in myth and legend: dragons? sigh...

I made the "breathing acid gas" comment based on the 3.5 Half-Dragon template. You're so good with the formatting for the stat blocks and the D&D stuff in general it's really easy to forget you stopped playing before 3.5.
And hurray for the foxdragon getting a name! I do have to say you're very good with fantasy names; you make them sound exotic without making them too complex to pronounce. For this in particular I really liked how you presented the information in a "based on witness accounts" kind of style. I think that was a very creative way to do it. I also chuckled at the little red riding hood reference.
I really liked the flavor of this as an ambush predator. I think you did a good job of making his abilities all have that idea in common. I was impressed with all the things you too into consideration; I would not have thought of the Hustle/Forced March clause and his bite having a longer reach was a great touch.
Thanks a lot for sharing! Now I'm really looking forward to reading your new story. Good luck with everything! ^^

The average LRRH-type character would be killed by his bite damage, let alone his sneak attack damage, so presumably he snaps those up extra gently so they will wiggle on the way down. 89
The name is that of a Native American "fox tribe". The swahili word for "fox" (or maybe jackal) was unpronounceable.
I made him as cowardly as you can make a pred and still have it eat people. The the thing I forgot to give him was Detect Magic, because nothing gives away a "bait" high level character like his massive number of magic items/spells. He's perfectly willing (and able) to run for his life if someone does try to bait him into an attack.
I'm getting to like the foxdragon enough that he will probably be canon soon, though dragons mature so slowly that by the time he gets to this size Hialfi will be either dead or retired. He might show up as a hatchling in a future Hialfi story, though clearly the dragoness' morality has rubbed off on him more than his fathers' has.
