"I am very old, as you know... tens of thousand years even. I have seen the old worlds and the occasions that changed them. I was amongst a species that could survive in an ice age with magical forces. Though I have changed forms and shapes too often, I can't remember what this species was like... and I have observed too much to know even who I was.
