Ello-ello! .w.
Even the best warriors need a break, and Merit is all too happy to join a party when she's invited!
The wine, the music, the singing, the banter, the dancing, playing games, a chance to catch up and mingle with the other guests...
Oh, and did I mention the wine? :3
I managed to snag a comm slot on one of Fortuna's streams
Just lookeet! She looks so happy! ;w;
Thank you so much! <3333333
Oh, and please make sure to fav the original image here to show the artist your support! <---- Thankee! ^w^

Curious, so what is the origins of Merit? From what I've gathered she's a part of some lioness pride that acts as a Pharaoh's Chariotry Corp. Her 'mum' seems to be a part of this pride, either she's married to the Pharaoh or is the captain of this pride. Merit appears to enjoy her life alongside her adoptive sisters even though she spends most of the day training and going on patrol ... or annoying her 'sisters' with loud awakenings in the morning and being chased for it. However she also seems to suffer some occasional depression, due to fears of failing her people and 'family.' When not fighting off bandits and pirates she seems to enjoy partying with wine, song, dance, and games. (Either this is simply an artist's rendition of the character or she is wearing a wig and dress in order to hide her identity - no hair, golden arm cuffs, and muscular arms and legs. Is this something she doesn't share with her mother and sisters? Initially I was beginning to think that Merit was an ancient equal of a superheroine and that this was her alter ego.)
That just leaves a lot of questions: Whose her father? Is she adopted as well, kinda like a female Moses but with clubs and shields instead of plagues? Does she get along with all of her 'sisters' or is one of them like an envious rival? Does she have any friends or are her sisters the only ones she spends time with? Does she have a rival that competes with her; friendly or as an enemy? Are there any bandits/pirates/slavers/etc. she's become rivaled to and hope to see her defeated/captured/enslaved/tortured/etc. - alongside her 'family'? I would love to see pictures of her 'Mum' and 'Sisters', even some of the villains she's defeated. If she and her sisters misbehave how does 'Mum' punish them? Does Merit have a crush - male or female?
It'd be lovely to see some pictures of her Mother/Sisters/Pharaoh/Friends/Rivals/Criminals she faces/etc.
Well, I'll let her get back to the party; she's earned it. Hopefully she doesn't over drink or she'll end up getting a motherly lecture, or teased by her pride sisters, a rival painting on her passed out face ... or wind up in the clutches/restraints of a villain if she passes out.
You have very intriguing characters; can't help but speculate and play around with them. XD

Well since you asked so nicely, I shall answer as best I can! Tho bear in mind none of my characters are really set in stone as of yet, so some of this is subject to change and has been revised some times between comms. ^w^;
Merit is a minor "Netjer", an Ancient Egyptian term usually translated as "god" but thats a bit misleading, more accurately from my understanding its rather a collective designation for any supernatural creature, which of course includes gods, servant deities, demons etc. So imagine Merit as something akin to a traditional Djinni from arabic folklore and Islam, where she lives in an "invisible" world thats hidden but not exactly seperate from humanity.
Originally she was just a furry who happened to be part of a chariotry corp, but I've since revised that into the above, apologies for the confusion but I digress... ^^;
I'm not going to go too deep into her backstory because I want to develop it more and maybe make it a surprise, but for now I can safely say that she's the devoted, adopted daughter of another lioness netjer called "White-Eye", a skilled chariot archer and soldier. White-Eye taught Merit close-quarters combat and chariot driving, making her into a fairly versitile and effective warrior of an elite chariot-corp full of lion netjer who have occasionally assisted mortals such as the Pharaoh in important battles. Because having a bunch of military bronze-age chariots driven by supernatural lion-people on your side is less scary than being on the recieving end of them! :D
She gets on fairly well with her fellow warrior women, tho she doesn't really spend a lot of quality time with them as they would maybe like. She's quite jolly and humerous most of the time, very much a party gal (as demonstrated in the piece), tho she does have the occasional depressive episode. She seems absolutly devoted to White-Eye, often accompanying her to various exploits, often behaving more like a servant than a daughter (White-Eye herself is not keen on this btw).
In this piece she's wearing a wig for the party, tho I have been thinking of giving her a blue mane to complete that "Egyptian Spirit" look you see a lot of gods/goddess' wear in artistic depictions. I also need to get some art of White-Eye sometime, you're right... ^w^;
I couldn't answer all your questions but I hope you at least found this an entertaining read! <333

Thank you very much. Hopefully one day, when I'm in a better position and have the right equipment, I'd love to do some fanart of your characters; they're too tempting to play with story-wise ... like a sandbox - or fanart/fiction.
So, she's something equal to that of a demi-goddess (some bit of mortality) who has been discovered and raised by "White-Eye" another 'Netjer', and raised alongside other adopted 'Netjer'. Merit also tends to act a bit 'too serious' and thinks of White-Eye as some sort of General, though White-Eye wishes Merit would be more like a daughter and that her 'sisters' wish she would act more like a sister ... unless she's banging her shield to wake them up at that point they wish she were dead. XD (Correct me if I'm getting any of this wrong.)
You're other characters are intriguing as well. I often have to work with what I know of your characters in the moment: For your Volgenstradt 1920's East European world I imagine that Victoria is a rich socialite -and very, very, very gay- that loves to do activist and charity work but her 'snobby-rich-bratty' attitude could be seen off-putting and make her work seem 'pity for the poor.' To help 'curb' her dominant mannerisms she turns, not to a psychiatrist or social worker, but a Dominatrix named Mitzi. Mitzi is a typical Dominatrix who agrees to dominate Victoria, though curious as how it will work as 'therapy.' In no time Victoria learns to hold back when in public but her love for the 'work' of Mitzi seems to become a new outlet as she challenges and resists like an engaging client. I'd guess Fiona would be a friend/activist of Victoria but has a very strong independent train of thought, which could be seen as off-putting in order to have connections with others. Under the advice, and begging puppy-dog eyes of the Cat, Fiona agrees to join her in her sessions. She's very resistant and challenging (and could be tricked into going into sessions because her body loves it), something Mitzi appreciates as Victoria seems to comfortable at times. In time, no matter how many clamps, ball gags, ropes, racks, blindfolds, riding crops, positions, fingers, feathers, and tongues she buries them under she soon grows attached to them, even giving Victoria a loving kiss to cheer her up when she seems distracted by something (based on the animation in your gallery.) They all soon become like family, instead of just client/employed.

As I've said, fun to play with. I love these lengthy chats. XD
It would be fun if you did elaborate stories with them, such as an illustration with a lengthy story. I'm curious as to what woes/adventures/lessons/trials/melodramas these djinni-kitties can get into. XD
