I remembered the one time one of my high school teachers commissioned me to illustrate The Ant and the Grasshopper for her child's school project. So, i agreed and i got to work.
And as usual, i get attached to things i draw and thought the design i gave to these two characters are way to good for a child's story project, so i did some concept sketching and reworked them into what you see above.
And also as usual, i like to think of this two boys are boyfriends with the ant being the more responsible one who bought the grasshopper in because no one else would and the grasshopper being the carefree one that likes to play the violin and wants to help his boyfriend, but doesn't know how ants work for food.
