Image with a smattering of color! I haven't entirely settled on the skintone, but it's really easy to change in its digital form. I might post variations, I'm not sure.

I'm still pretty meh that they didnt show Tali even though you followed that romance option. It will be interesting to see variations and the number one rule of thumb I've found so far with quarians is that its probably going to be easier to follow a "naked" quarian by looking closely at geth body structure.
Bravo to this though.

Really? I figured you'd never see her face until probably around the end of the 3rd game, if that. Mass Effect is all about the Long Game, and I honestly would have been a little disappointed if they had shown her face.
And I think using geth as quarian templates can only go so far. Geth might appear similar at first glance, but there's a lot different, especially in the face.

technically speaking, since they have the same type of dna as turians id think they would be a bit closer to them then anything else [dextro dna, all that means though in the end is a quarian and a turain cant eat the same food as any other race, as the codex says 'at best the food eaten by other races would pass thru there system with no benefit, at worst trigger an allergic reaction that would be fatal if not treated immediately]
still though, that is a prety neat rendering of what they might look like

The order of their amino chains has no bearing on their physical appearance. Any biologist knows that the evolution of external appearance and mechanical systems is a result of adaptations to one's environment over a great period of time. Turians look like they do because the homeworld on which they evolved has a much thinner magnetosphere than say Earth does, resulting in Turians (along with all other life on Palaven) being exposed to higher amounts of radiation. In short, many creatures on Palaven have developed metal-rich exoskeletons or hides in order to protect themselves from these radiation levels.
Heh, it's not a choice of preference or anything. Just making an observation.
"Realistically", it's because their feet are smaller than that of humans. So technically, they are walking on the balls of their feet, or at least where that section would be on a normal human-shaped foot. They just don't have much of a heel behind that. Long toes, too. Unless that's just a part of their suit.

I really like this piece. This is only the second piece of Tali fanart where I really agree with the way someone's portrayed her. She's alien enough(most Tali pics try and paint her as some sort of Space Elf or Raven knockoff), and still stays true to what we can make out (humanoid features, nose, eyes). She's alien, but still beautifully so, and I like that.
