This will be the cover piece for the '10 Years on Cervidia' art book.
Original image is 14"x17" on Bristol paper.
Good luck with this one Magic Clam!
This one was so large we couldn't scan it, so we had to take a picture w/ a digital camera. Still, it turned out pretty good.
Update: Changed the size of the image so people can see more of the details.
Enjoy!

This is at least 9 different kinds of awesome!
I am flabbergasted. There are so many nit-picky little details in this one, it's...mind-blowing.
If I'm not blind, that smokey, magical-looking stuff is coming out of Kaneshia's staff... What's up with that? (Or is that to be revealed?)
In any case, I say well done! Well done indeed!

Yeeaaaah, i know what you mean about getting WAAAYYYY too much carried away with details. XD I Do that sometimes too.
BUT In your case it never seems to be a bad thng, the tree bark patterns look great, and since they are mostly vertical lines, don't really distract from the central character's more coruved patterns and overall lines.
I love how the hem of her robe is flowing and billowing out like that, makes her look ethereal and as if shee's floating. XD
Oh, and if this is a pic with a camera... wow, nice quality for something like that.

Thanks! It certainly helps that the background lines are different from those on the character. The flowing cape also frames the character and separates her from the surrounding business.
Fortunately we had good even lighting for taking the picture and my colorist, Magic Clam has some digital editing skills to help bring out the contrast so that it looks nearly as good as a scanned image.

In Ventallia on Cervidia, cloaks are a common clothing article during the winter months. Anytime Kaneshia is shown working as a Forest Guardian, you will see her in this type of garb. The aristocrats in Chondy also wear cloaks and capes while outside in the winter months.
