Hey noodle what did you do today?
Well I had a dream I was an exchange student at a British university, but it was actually my dream-university (The one that has winding hallways, hidden staircases, rooms within rooms, and all sorts of labyrinthine design). I was in a class where we were gonna play a game of tag, but in order to get 'out', you had to have both your hands get paint on them. Those who were chasing people had long sticks (like broom handles) with a ball of cloth on the end. These were dipped into paint, then used to try and make people 'out'. While running from the initial classroom, I headed toward the secret underground tunnels beneath the music room, but I couldn't find it and had to make do with an abandoned classroom inside a tiny broom closet. I remember seeing one of the chasers, and so I had to flee. I also remember someone playing Zelda 2, but it was the dream version of Zelda 2...Far, FAR harder than the normal one, and to even get the sword you had to go past impossibly difficult enemies. The person playing was so good they were still in Angel Mode (where Link's sprite was replaced with one that looked similar to Thunderbird from the same game), and I realized he was using cheat codes.
Anyway I dun remember much else, but I woke up around 10:30ish. I brushed my teeth and got ready, then headed upstairs. I couldn't find my glasses initially, but I remembered leaving them in the van the night before, so I went out and found them...Yey!
I relaxed on the couch and petted black kitty while mum got ready for the day, then when we were ready to go we headed out...And I drove! We took 68 all the way to Paducah, and I told mum about the Joe Rogan podcast with the black guy who converted 200 KKK members from their organizations. My throat was a bit croaky still, but not by much! Throughout the journey, mum kept criticizing me about my speed. Oof!
We got to Hobby Lobby around noon, where mum and I did a bit of shopping. She needed a shadowbox for Alecia and Debbie's wedding, but while there she realized we can make a nice little copper-wire tree for neighbor-Cindy's 70th birthday, since she liked the ones I made, so we got those supplies then headed out!
The next place we went was Dick's, where I was able to get some nice new pairs of basketbol shorts. I tried on 4 pairs in the changing room, which had a lot of clothes in it, but found most fit pretty well...Had to trade one pair for some longer shorts, tho, since I'm a tol nodl. After getting my clothes, I headed back to the firearm section an nosed around the guns. I dunno why some of the guns are covered in camo...If you drop that in the forest, doesn't that make it harder to find?
After we got our stuff and paid for it (mum paid for my shorts! Thank! <3 ), we headed to Outback Steakhouse for lunch. I told mum what I wanted to eat, then headed back to the bathroom...I did think it was super funny that the stalls, which were very clean, still had a lot of writing along the wooden trim circling the midsection of the area. Some philosophical (“We are butt brothers”)!
I went back to the booth and mum and I split a large appetizer of coconut shrimp (She only ate 2, but I ate 6), then for the main course I had some linguini with rosemary and shrimp and steak. I ate all the shrimp and a lot of the pasta, then saved the rest for later. When they brought the box, I also added the homemade breab and some of the butter to my crate...It's good breab!
We drove home on the highway, where it was still raining (it had rained all day!), then when we got home we unloaded and happily relaxed. I went downstairs and chatted with frands and did a bit of typing, where I let my birbs out of the cage. As usual Arlow wanted to explore many naughty places, but when he tried nibbling on my wooden models, I had to put him back in his house. I got back on the couch then chatted with one of my frands about languages and genii, and realized I was feeling a bit glum...Not sad, but eh. I realize most of my art and work is shit, and will never see an audience larger than a few dozen close friends and family. Sad, I suppose, given all the work I put on my projects, but them's the breaks. Life isn't fair, and it seems as if something like 95% of all successes arise through nepotism or dumb, stupid luck; of which I lack both.
To feel better I went upstairs and ate my food, enjoying the slight spice the noodles seemed to have. I also had some chocolates with my big glass of milk! I then headed downstairs and spent some time typing while watching tubes. I didn't stay up that long, and I know I wound up heading to bed around 11ish.
I hope everyone has a Paducah-visiting day! <333
