Politics are the downfall of many

Much to my chagrin. It's why I got out of the Active duty army. Was tired of the ass kissing, the politics, and the inefficiencies, they're known for....then I found the civilian bracket

same reason I retired instead of pursuing more rank, all those reasons were what I would have had to stoop to.

To think this is happening because society didn't want to supplement their meat with soybeans. Or had yet to perfect meat synthesis.

Imagine the surplus of food thanks to synthesis tech would help solve a lot of problems.

Not to be negative, but... I've always hated scenes where someone's on watch in a camp, at night, with a nice fire going... and sits staring into the fire, destroying their night vision while at the same time being a brightly lit target for anyone outside of the camp. He should be about 10 metres out of the camp, with his back to the fire, and should really move around a few times to avoid being snuck up on, and, romantic song or not, shouldn't be singing. Emcon ain't just for radio freq stuff. It's a nice drawing and all, but it represents so many of the worst possible things to do when on watch.
