A quick trip back down memory lane...
When I was in standard 2 in primary school back in 1992, a friend of mine (with whom we departed ways at the end of school) began drawing little comics based off the Heathcliff cartoon strips that appeared in the Afrikaans magazine Huisgenoot. I followed his example and the two of us drew our own strips using our two main characters, Kat-Lawaai (translates roughly to Noisy Cat, who is mine) and Hond-Lawaai (Noisy Dog, his char). Kat-Lawaai is the "cat" in the upper left, though he definitely does not look a cat. Next to him is Hond-Lawaai, who actually looks like a dog and not a freak like my char. :P The character in the upper right is my second version of a cat character, but I kept KL's character shape anyway. Below is my second favourite character Skater (who eventually evolved to Stalker, the main villian in my Iron Fist RR fanfic series) and a random dog showing our use of poses and expressions.
Looking back, this was where my first steps into the world of furry art started. It's a major pity I never kept all the pictures and comic strips from my primary school days. At any rate, looking at these characters, it's amazing how much my art had improved since those tentative steps in 1992.
