Eighteen years ago, this adorable little furball came into our lives and turned everything upside down.
Now she's grown all grown up and I can embarrass her in front of her friends with the photo album.
Happy Birthday Wai, we love you so much.

I was just thinking of Red and Dutch's wedding at SDCC in 89, and Their kid in 1990!! That kid would be THIRTY now!
I recently received a copy of Scudder Kidwell's 'Crusade' where Scudder was out to top that series of events with Beth the magical hornless unicorn. What a flipping joke!
THIRTY DAMN YEARS!!! Berzerker is 30!!

I wish I still had my copies of Barr Wars from the late 80s/early 90s when Ed Pegg printed them. How our Characters literally taken a life of their own on.
Red Shetland's first son, Steinling would be 30, her twins would be 28. And yes, we aged them with actual time.
I did that in another storyline I was running for years in Rowrbrazzle, a slice of life story that was based on real time. The main character, a Vietnam vet in 1971, had a daughter with his wife in 85 , later widowed and was a single dad raising an infant daughter somehow. That kid would be 35 at the pace I set the strip today.

God how time flies.
Hi there, not to sound creepy or anything, but your art and the IAPW comic kinda was how I got into the fandom and got to accept myself as a non-binary fur.
When I was younger, I learned of hentai from a friend, and got into animal people boinking human girls, then eventually just animal people boinking each other. I had mild interest in futanari, but it was around the time where Doug Winger was at his peak, and the idea of hermaphrodites brought images of breasts bigger than torsos, wasp waists, and male genitalia the size of entire humanoid forms. Depressed me that it was kind of "the norm".
Then I saw your character, a hermaphrodite with predominantly male qualities, none of which out of proportion, experiencing simple but honest intimate affection with either sex. Even when your character developed feminine traits, they were never drastic.
You even had a beautiful child, lil Wai there, and aside from the occasional joke, gender never came into the equation, it was just being happy with what you felt was right for you and never letting pre-conceived notions of what one's physical sex dictate anything.
It kinda helped me find a place of identity, and I even joined your message board and met my first furry friends there. (I remember you getting angry at us for using it as a chat room practically. Still sorry about that ^^;)
I'm so happy you are still doing well and making beautiful art, just being yourself. 18 years is a long time... but for all the hardships? It's nice knowing some things remain as happy and beautiful as they ever were.

One thing I've learnt and try to share is it's more important to simply love the people you're with, and accept them for who and what they are (or want to be or how they see themselves). At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what colour, sex, gender, or even species we are, we are brought together by the things we share and enriched by the things that make us different. I wanted to show this by example through the comic as it's a reflection of our real life relationship.
And this too is why I love the Furry fandom so much. We have such diversity and yet are still so inclusive. I'm glad you found a place here amongst us. Probably one of the best places to be - especially in today's social climate.
And yeah, I was a bit of a dick with that chat room. Think I took it all a little too seriously back then.
