A harsh winter has once again fallen in Knothole. Residents and heroes alike have been through such winters before, but this one special if not more as it threatened to freeze everything over.

As such, everyone has been working overtime to prepare for a temporary yet long freeze period. Sonic of course lends a helping hand and when it's all said and done, retreats to his own home as the freezing winter rears it's head. But there's a problem; the temperature systems have been going screwy to the point that they have to be shut down for repairs, meaning no heat for who knows how long. Of course he could wrap himself up with blankets....but that's pretty much it.

Thankfully and oddly out of everyone, it was Antoine who reluctantly offered the hedgehog a warm place to stay till the winter eases up. Reluctant is the right word; a carefree stubborn hedgehog bunking in with the more sophisticated and well kept coyote who'd AT LEAST puts on clean socks before leaving out....most of the time..., but being the fast and fearless hero that he is not to mention helping Antoine himself from being buried in junk, and since Bunnie Rabbot is out someplace much warmer, he has a vacancy for the poor Sonic.

The rules have been set and understood as Sonic brings his personal things and set up for the night. After a bite to eat and going as far as HELP clean up to be more comfortable, it was time for bed and while Sonic was going to sleep on the couch, Antoine reluctantly suggested that they'd share the bed since it's big and comfy enough for two. But they'd also have to sleep on different positions, meaning simply their heads would be inches away from each other's feet. Still with their footwear and such removed and the lights shut off, they climbed into bed and prepare for a warm slumber after moving around to get into better sleeping positions. But still out of random, and out of each other's view, they can't stop staring annoyingly at the other's shifting feet just close to their heads.

In the dimly lit room, all was silent except in their own minds;

Humf, "some view", Sonic silently huffed despite being in a comfortable position. I had to lay right next to Ant's "petite" stompers. Always clean and preppy as if preparing to show them off, only to be going in those suede boots of his. Preparing to show them off, gosh did I really just say that?? Man, gotta stop lookin' at them...but why can't I? Sure they smell funny from whatever colon he puts on them, but they look as good as he is. Presentable, even since being in the Royal Guard and all. But still, those dogs of his are always willing and able to fight Robotnik and the others, to protect Sally but sorry Ant, she's taken! Yeah, when he's not uptight or looking for a place to hide, gotta admit he pulls his own. Speaking of which, bet those feet of his need a real kick back, let lose from getting all uptight from the smallest things. Yeah like that one or second time with Sally after a long mission, a little foot rub wouldn't hurt anybody. Man there I go again! I'm gonna need a straight jacket just for thinking all this from looking at his feet!! Well...i-it's not like they don't need it....

Eck just LOOK at that hedgehog's feet, Antoine would think to himself. Just the smell from his worn socks alone would be enough to clear a room. It's almost rare to see him without those red sneakers of his, could barely picture him without them to the point at times he'd say those shoes ARE his feet! So sweaty and smelly...worn out...no doubt sore and wounded at times from all that running and jumping he does, they must take a toll on Sonic. Bet they haven't had so much as a good rub down after a nice warm soak. After going out of his way to help others against all evil, and me, separating himself from his favorite, and possibly only pair of sneakers, would be the only relief those feet of his would ever get. Bod dieu I'd never thought I'd say this about his feet.....HIS FEET..., but they'd need some much needed tender care...and L'Amour...

If the views of their prospective was undesirable, and simplest thing that can be done was turning over to their sides. But they chose not to, instead their secretly gazing at each other's feet, with no signs of turning away. As if....memorized by their weaknesses and strengths...

This was going to be a long and interesting stay, and the winter outside would only last for the next 24 hours...more or less...

To be honest with you, I've been meaning to post this during times of snowfall. Well from where I am, it's snowing now, and on the very episode of Sonic SatAM "The Odd Couple" the two have to bunk during a winter storm. Why the heck not if nothing else?

And yes in case the very title of this isn't evidence enough, this is indeed sorely based on such episode short which was one out of four throughout the whole series (the ones that weren't uber serious but please don't quote me on that and hold it against me). Thought it'd be a silly little scenario between these polar opposites ^^.

Of course like before with many thanks, this is the splendid work of  3rdharleyjoe with the final finishing touches on the color done by  sorcererlance once again. Apologizes to those that actually read the story felt it seemed abit rushed among other things.
