More new characters, you say?
More like a character I've had for a few years now that's been needing a reference and I'm finally doing it for a new Dragonite!
I want to say that this character was born out of my first phase of Pokémon brought upon by Black version and my messing around with a Pokémon generator app for that game and Platinum. I remember the team for the latter was a mesh of Pokémon I thought looked the coolest, so Dragonite, Monferno, Raichu, Tropius, Wailmer, and Snorlax. I had even given them all names and written up backstories for each of them, but the one who had changed the most was the Dragonite, until I had a completely new idea for it when I started writing about an original Pokémon region that takes place in my world, Ioa.
It was a random idea I had at the time, just for fun, but I started using him more in roleplays, he went from one personality into another that I didn't think I'd ever play as, and now he's probably one of my most fun to play as. So while there's less background to his creation as there is others, allow me to introduce to you all: Cherry.
One of the Light Kingdom's closest allies has to be the Ké Kingdom, a region made up predominantly of Pokémon and ruled by the nation's royal family. Along the region's famous route, the Great Trail, it takes Trainers and visitors alike up to the northernmost town, Camp Journey. Along the trail, with plenty of caves built into the rocky walls lived an unusual Dragonite, one that had pinky-peach skin, cherry-red wings, and stubby fingers and toes rather than claws. He lived in that cave with his best friend Flutter, a Flygon, being somewhat of a hoarder of toys and gadgets and gizmos from the outside, and was most fascinated by the nerdiest stuff, like games and comics. He was so fascinated that he eventually wanted to leave and go out there and experience the outside world. That's when he would meet Kyle as he traveled through a bit of Ké Kingdom with his best buddy, Simon (https://www.deviantart.com/sdragon01), who became enthralled with the look of this Yoshi, both had many similarities that it seemed like this was the time to go. Kyle obliged and took him back home.
Over time, Cherry would learn more and more about his friends' way of life and experience it for himself. Most notably, turning himself into a Softie, and becoming just as soft as his dinosaur buddy, leading both of them to do lots of fun squishy things together, that for some time, you couldn't see one of them without the other! Cherry would become less wondering about life and began to live one all his own, in an excited, happy and outgoing.
When you meet Cherry for the first time, you'll realize how sweet of a guy he really is. He is charismatic and cheerful all the time, but especially around Kyle, he is extremely playful, particularly because Kyle is a Softie, and he loves to mess with him and tease him when Kyle is transformed against his will, but he also enjoys doing that with his other friends as well, although he enjoys it most with Kyle, considering their friendship.
Cherry is large and loves to eat, his favorite food being - ironically - the Cheri Berry, as well as the otherworldly counterpart to it, cherries. This also shows off that on Ioa, Dragonites can take on two different appearances based on one main factor: their Attack & Defense, and their Special Attack & Special Defense. This all depends on which one is higher than the other, or which one will have more prominence on the Dragonite as they grow stronger. For example, Wing has higher physical attributes than his special/technical ones, so he's more physically fit and also trains regularly, making him a Pure Variant of the Ioan Dragonite. Cherry, though, is close to the opposite: he has higher special attributes than his physical ones, which can be seen by his body and weight, and he knows almost no physical moves. Rather, he knows primarily Special Attacks: Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam are his main moves, with Fly being there in case he does need something else.
Admittedly there were some details when drawing Cherry that I missed that I hope to either address and draw or update in this description, but for now, enjoy the newest addition to the group! Thank you for looking and reading!

Thanks for the feedback! He was always meant to look this way but up until now, I had never drawn him. So I didn’t know how well it would work until I finally colored him and I was able to look at it.
Admittedly this isn’t the first time I’ve done this, I’ve actually drawn another Dragonite character who is more naturally colored and still missing that secondary color and looks better, but even it made me think that I should do something with Cherry as a result. Sorry it looks weird!

Yes it is, it is part of a writing/RP project that I’m doing with friends that involves a world that includes a variety of species, most from the Mushroom World (or the Super Mario games), in which they all have slight visual differences from their original counterparts, resulting in all of them being one color.
It’s also how I generally did all of my art, I just stuck to one color because it hadn’t been done much and I thought it was more visually pleasing.
