I've heard from someplace that they're going to try to really reboot Superman, sort of in the way they rebooted Batman. Hopefully they will try to make it less like the Christopher Reeves version from the seventies and make it more iconic. The old superman was just cheesy as all hell and the Superman returns movie...well...
It really wasn't as good as it was built up to be, and was just disappointing to everyone overall. And the guy who played supes in that movie did not-look-right-at-all. And I don't like the way they tried to sexy-up the suit in that movie, either. The low-rider shorts over his tights...Gods, why? And the obviously rubber, useless belt with another superman symbol on it?..oh FUCK, no. And there was no "S" symbol on his cape...what's up with that? And that main "S"...that stupid...raised...goofy-ass shaped "S" in a diamond it did not deserve to be in....WarnerBrothers and DC died that day in my eyes. They even had the gaul to get some buy who wasn't even built right in the superman costume, for fuck's sake! And the collar of that thing just seemed too close to the wearer's neck for comfort.

In their defense, here's what was good about the superman suit:
The coloring, the design of the millions of little superman shields woven/screened into the fabric of the blue tights, and the materials used to make the suit were quite good. Plus the boots were okay, not perfect, but a least a C+ in design and coloring. The soles of those boots looked too much like Reebocks for my taste. And I wouldn't mind the raised S-shield so much if they just hadn't made it so blasted small on the costume's chest with sharp edges and the Chris Reeves S shape in it. It looked dumb.
