If you look along the road bed you can see where the lake crested at. The last time I remember the water being this high it was at the pavements edge... so a couple of years ago they replaced the old culvert with a much bigger one.

They replaced the culvert on my 'main' road last year. It lets that little stream I mentioned a few days ago trickle under the road. The old culvert was an 18" corrugated pipe; the new one is a 4'6" box culvert. I'll be dead long before they have a problem with that.
