Two former guards seeked to infiltrate the royal palace of Hortensios, not as enemies, but to save their queen from herself.
Infiltration is oddly enough, easier during ceremonies than under regular circumstances, due to activity being hectic in and around the palace; also only a select few guards are equipped with their modern equipment and weapons : most of them are wearing what their ancestors might've been wearing millenia ago. That's why especially the younger guards are not too fond of those, they allow them to show off their bodies a bit more but it feels like they're wearing nothing at all. But well, anything to uphold illustrious traditions.

They snatch a pair of junior royal guards, relieve them of their ceremonial garb, and leave them tied up and gagged behind a curtain. They never knew what hit them. They struggle a little with those, because the male version of this very circumstantial, traditional costume has the chest completely bare except for a large metal plate that's not boob-friendly.

These unicorns are part of the Dim Sun empires; I would like to tell more about them later.
