Let me just say that again... She sent me a PHOTO to work from.
Yes. That's pretty much what she looks like. o_o
There's really not a lot of room for exaggeration there without getting outright cartoonish. Now, whether or not this photo was actually HER, and not someone else's photo, I'm not sure. But, there is SOMEONE out there that looks like this. o_o
And, God help anyone who makes fun of her for it. ;)

And, honestly, I can't say as I blame you, either. ;)
However, considering she doesn't have it uploaded on her dA account, I have to assume it's because she doesn't want to make it public knowledge what she ACTUALLY looks like. (My REAL assumption is that she gave me someone else's photo... either way, that's what the girl in the photo I was given looked like.)
