I looove this monster, so scary! It was a reptile lynx with copper horns that would drown people and create whirlpools but you could calm it down by giving it tobacco lol I love unknown cultural monsters :D

This needs to be animated so the eyes of the creature blink randomly.

The utter dread and terror I feel.... I will have nightmares... -whimpers- The fact that I could see this creature moving rapidly out of the water and dragging me in to drown me? With my fear of drowning.... yeah.... and the dark.. the fear of the dark.... -puts a paper bag over it's head-

those staring eyes coming up from the water...D: you're gonna give me nightmares, too!!

and the eyes, you think you're see things so you walk closer... a muffled clicking noise coming from the water... then SNATCH D: -clings to- SAVE ME!! -sawbs-

In fact I see a looong body that gives it a frightening size... where did you come up with this thing? And I though shadow walkers were scary D:

I found out about it at a "mythical creatures" gallery at the field museum in chicago, and oh man I fell in love with it. It's a huuuuge aquatic lynx creature with copper horns that lives in the water and drowns victims, and also breaks ice in the winter so people fall in, etc. It apparently can be calmed down with offerings of tobacco. A really neat creature! Also, really scary...

Reminds me of the eastern creature the Kappa.... >>; the turtle-water monster that drowned people and are rather vicious... appeasing them would to toss their favorite food, the cucumber, into the water for the children to be safe, and that wasn't even for sure sometimes....
