Well you have a good start. Your description and detailing is very solid and strong. Your characters seem depthful , but still able to be developed over the rest of the work. Your opening was good for this first chapter. Seems to have much potential. Best of luck with the rest.

As a first chapter I was unable find anything that made the work weak, perhpas others will have more to say on the subject. I am not a proper audience to adress your second question of wanting more as well.
