After an extensive period of time preparing the petrified feline for restoration, Petra would finally restore him to flesh and blood, with the addition of a new arm. Being as it was not originally of his own body, the arm has no coloration to revert back to, and so the fur restores to the same grey coloring of the stone it used to be made of. As far as the feline seems concerned, that complication is minor compared to the benefit of having his arm back.

The whole idea being this 2-part was to create "practical" uses for petrification abilities, or ways to exploit it for a benefit besides simply creating statuary.
