I included a little more than usual again. I try to do about four pages. This is six.
You can find the information on where to get the first two books here
We're getting close to the end of Part One and I'm lazy, so I'll get the links fixed when it's finished. In the meantime, it's in my gallery in order.
Sajani Tails: A Ship Called Hope is technically the third book in the series, but chronologically, it's the first. Before Sajani rose to be the pirate queen of Terah, she was a rather selfish and uncaring petty criminal. Learn about the events that forged her to be the symbol of hope and loyalty she is now.
The appearance of Miss Kirchen was a bit of a surprise. I didn't originally plan on Zenache getting at all involved in this mess, but I soon realized that, being on the opposite border of Rhidayar, they'd be a little watchful as well. I know some writers plan out their book painstakingly, but I'm not quite that way. I didn't make plans at all on the first book and it shows. Since it was intended to start a series, I had certain marks that the publisher insisted I hit (she gets a ship and becomes a pirate). I had an objective (the supply depot) and I had a lot of fun just wandering around until it was all done and I realized I forgot have a plot.
Book 2 I wrote an entire outline and when I finished it was only about 45k words. ouch. So I spent a lot of time fleshing it out. Each chapter is preceded by a brief character sketch and while it looks really artsy and purposeful and well planned, it was originally conceived to add in some more length and give the characters more depth. When I was done and after I'd fleshed out enough that they weren't needed for length, I decided that they provided a very literary purpose and so I asked to keep them. The publisher laughed and told me he thought they were great and had never even considered removing them.
So the first two parts of book 3 are written as a kind of hybrid of the two methods (pants and plan, I think the writer "community" calls them). Part 3... when you get to part three I think you'll see why it required a lot more planning than either of the first two books, although a lot of it is improvised as well.
