Chapter 12: Interception.
It was now Thursday morning in the dark misty jungle. Wane and the other three wolves were sleeping on a hilltop near a valley. Wane could not sleep, he all of a sudden felt depressed from his past, the day of his parent’s death. Wane decided to leave the sleeping wolves and venture on his own. It was a foggy early morning. Wane walked through a couple of bushes and came to a big open field. He ventured all the way to the middle and sat in the middle of the field. Trees surrounded the big open area. Wane looked up at the sky as though he were talking to his parents.
Wane- Mom, dad, I know you guys are up there. I just want you to know that you will always be with me. I promise you that that Doberman and golden retriever will pay. That fool Jonathon Muntz had the nerve to bring up my parents; He will get what is coming to him just like his brother did. Then Wane heard a noise behind him, it was Riley. Riley had followed him all the way to the field. Wane was mad and told Riley to leave at once. Riley wanted to stay to hear about Wanes’ past events.
Wane- Riley, I told you to fall back. I want alone time before we get those dogs. I don’t want any trouble from you today either Riley.
Riley- Can you please tell me why you hate that family so much, I promise I won’t speak a word of this to the pack. Wane looked in Riley’s eyes and made him shake on it. Wane did not like someone saying they would do something and then decides not to. Riley shook Wanes’ paw and listened as Wane revealed his past events.
Wane- It was on a day, just like this, five years ago. I was still a pup, mom and dad were leading me in the woods to teach me how to hunt, but suddenly they heard movement in the woods and that is when it happen!!
Flashback: Five years earlier.
Muntz and Cole were coming in from the dock. They had gone to the city on the mainland to spend a day with each other. At this time Jeremy (a husky) was the pack leader of Charles Muntz’s dogs. Cole thought he was the most beautiful dog he had ever seen.
Cole- Where in God’s name did you get a dog like that Muntz?
Muntz- I got him in Alaska on my last trip there. He was expensive, but when you have money you can by anything.
Cole- yeah I know, say didn’t you collect quite a bit for every piece of history you could find? Muntz said yes and took a hold of Jeremy. Muntz was ready to get back to the blimp. He led the way with the dogs following him. Cole followed as he wanted to see the blimp once again. Cole loved the spirit of adventure. He and Muntz would always be doing some work on this aircraft, to keep it running like new. The surrounding dogs eye balled Cole as he followed Muntz into the cave and up the bridge to the blimp. Cole started looking around the big cave wondering where the security was. He knew there was no security. Muntz led him inside the blimp, and everyone made their way to the dining room. Muntz sat at the head of the table and Cole sat next to him on his left. Cole felt honored. When Jonathon came into the room Cole’s smile on his face disappeared and immediately went to a frown. Cole really did not care for Jonathon.
Cole- So, Jonathon, I see you haven’t been keeping up with your credentials. You are starting to reduce in your genius creative ways. I mean when was the last time you created something worthwhile? Jonathon looked at his brother Charles and then the dogs, Jonathon pointed to one of the dog’s translator collars. Cole just busted out laughing.
Cole- You idiot, you did not create those. Your brother designed them and Lamfaton Industries manufactured them. All you did was the programming. That is all you are Jonathon a programmer. So if you can do that? Why were you kicked off the biggest project of history?
Jonathon- because my team and I made a lot of mistakes with a new software we were developing and we could not get it working, so the company fired me and my whole team. We were all devastated by how it ended. You know, I don’t even stay in contact with those guys anymore; they obviously don’t care to call me or anything, so I gave up. Everyone at the table got quiet as Charles broke the silence.
Muntz- So Jonathon, Cole and I went to the city today; we were talking about how you made the collars with all the tech on it. We also were talking about modifications for generation 4 collars. Jonathon was drinking some wine when he gaged in his glass and looked above his glass at Cole.
Jonathon- excuse me? Run that by me again Cole, you want me to create a new version of the translator collar just for your little wolf pack? Are kidding me? I would never do that for you, no way! Not after the way yu treat me and dismiss me. Sorry dude, no deal. Take your business elsewhere. Cole grew angry and warned Jonathon to watch his attitude. Jonathon raised his voice at Cole and told him to leave. Cole did a wicked grin from ear to ear. Then Cole got up told Charles he had a great time then left the cave quietly. Muntz looked at his brother in disgust.
Muntz- Now Jonathon, was that really necessary? You know that we have a past with this character. I know what he is capable of and I don’t want to make him mad. Jonathon was watching Cole’s every move. Cole was standing by a crate with traps. Jonathon got up and told Jeremy to go with him.
Muntz- Jonathon, where do you think you are taking my dog? He is the pack leader. He does not leave my side for anything unless I say he can. What do you think you will do?
Jonathon- Brother did you not see what he did? He just stole some of your traps and is probably setting them up around the location, to end us or the dogs. Jeremy had been quiet the whole time and this was the first time he was speaking since they arrived back.
Jeremy- I agree with Jonathon master, if we search for clues, maybe he and I can find something of use. Come on master, Jonathon and I can go on our own special mission. He and I got this, piece of cake. What do you say Jonathon, are you in? Jonathon looked at the husky with a strange look. Jonathon thought long and hard and said he would do it. Muntz said fine. Jeremy and Jonathon took off into the woods. Jeremy used his powerful nose to try and track the scent of the crate. Jeremy finally picked up the scent and followed it with interest. Jonathon followed as they crossed through several layers of branches, bushes and flowers to get to the target. Long and behold Jeremy and Jonathon had eyes on Cole. He was heading to Sunset Village. Jonathon wanted to know why Cole was walking that way. They sneaked around until they came to the entrance of the village. Cole walked inside a cabin and closed the door behind him. Jonathon told Jeremy to stay put as he went to investigate the cabin. Cole was standing at a table where Fernando Anderson was standing.
Cole- I want you to turn these pathetic waste of technology into good lethal traps Fernando. I stole them From Charles Muntz. I think you can make that lethal right? Fernando studied the traps and was making outlines on a sketch pad. He was making new prototypes and was designing a robot called the retriever 3000.
Fernando- You know Cole we have been friends for decades, you do realize I am also helping Muntz out to right? I can’t just have this ready in one night, you got to give me more time, say six days time. I shall have what you desire by then ok? Cole was upset he wanted traps now. He took the money that Fernando paid him and walked to the front door. He opened it and came back outside in the main town. He called for someone on his radio and told them 10 minutes near the labromyth. That was Kevin’s home at the time. Cole threw his bag on his shoulder and went off into the jungle. Jonathon and Jeremy kooked at each other and followed Wane back into the jungle. They came to an open area with a single tree standing in the middle of the open field. Cole was meeting two wolves in the middle of the field.
Daniel- You got the goods huh master? I never thought you would be able to steal those traps, great sneaky plan.
Maggie- Yeah I’ll say, those dogs will never see another attack coming. With these weapons Muntz will never even know we took them. The three gathered the weapons and equipment and headed to the rear of the field and disappeared behind a set of tall bushes. Jonathon said he would take Cole, Jeremy said he would take the wolves. They split up and Jeremy went one way and Jonathon went another. Jonathon came to what looked like pointy stick weeds sticking out the ground. He kept walking and followed a trail leading down a narrow path with stone wall on either side. He was tailing Cole and eventually got to where he was heading. The labormyth lied ahead and Cole was added some modifications to some traps that Muntz had in the crate. He added a proximity sensor on a mine and placed it on the ground by the entrance.
Jonathon- So, Cole this what you have been doing all these years? You are the one behind the deaths of my brother’s dogs? After everything me and my brother have done for you, this is how you repay us. Cole jumped up in fright as he heard Jonathon’s voice.
Cole- Well, well, well, if it isn’t little brother himself. I was wondering if you would follow me Jonathon. I was not placing a mine down; this is a explosive that drops you into the ground. I was not associated with the land mines, someone else was. I still don’t know who, but whoever it is good for them. You and your brother have dismissed me for the last time. Your brother does not want to accept my offer I gave him, and then he will suffer the consequences, just like you Jonathon. Jonathon did not like the sound of this. He knew someone was going to get hurt today, the question is, who? Cole smiled and walked down a dirt trail and disappeared behind some bushes. Jonathon got on his radio and tried to warn Jeremy. Cole was setting them up for a trap! Jonathon tried again, but no answer. Jonathon was getting scared now, suddenly, Howling could be heard in the distance. It sounded like a young wolf howling. Jonathon picked up his things and started walking back the way he came. Then two more wolves could be heard from the distance. Jonathon’s heart started pounding as he walked cautiously through the eerie jungle. The sky was now dark grey, the sun had disappeared. With still no word from Jeremy Cole started picking up his speed. Jeremy was sneaking through bushes and weeds searching for the wolves. Jeremy crawled his way to a huge canyon and looked down the deep hole. Then out of nowhere two wolves jump from the nearby bushes and came up behind Jeremy. It was Daniel and Maggie. Jeremy gulped as they slowly approached Jeremy.
Jeremy- What do you guys want, I am not looking for trouble. Olease let me go and I won’t breathe a word. The two wolves snarled and barked at Jeremy. Jeremy coward as the wolves attacked him. Daniel showing his white teeth said,
Daniel- Shut-up dog, you are lucky we have not killed you already. Out of neutral respect, I am allowing you to live right now. So, here is what you are going to do for me Jeremy, you are such a pretty dog, I would hate to have to end you. You will leave this very second and never come to our territory again. If you cross where that tree is in that big field again, there will be war. I hope I made myself clear Jeremy. I don’t want to have to say this again. Jermey stood up and said yes, He was not about to start a war with wolves. Jeremy stuck his white paw out to shake the wolf’s paw. Daniel walked up and shook it gladly. The animals came to an understanding. They said their farewells and starting walking away. But Jeremy noticed a beam of light going across the walkway. It looked like a laser! Daniel and Maggie were not paying attention and they tripped the laser then, Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! The sound of an explosion The two wolves were immediately thrown to the rocks. Jeremy rushed over and tried to help them. The ground started cracking and holes were appearing! Jeremy tried to grab the two wolves but it was too late. Jeremy also noticed he was going down as well. Jeremy did everything to try to jump out but then, the rock behind him fell over and fell on top of Jeremy sinking him into the pitch black hole! The little wolf came out of hiding and saw the debris and started howling. He was Wane. He walked up to the rubble and could not see into the hole. Three innocent animals died today and someone is responsible. Jonathon came running through a set of trees and saw Wane sitting there by the rubble. Wane turned his heaf towards Jonathon and whined. Jonathon also was sad. He knew Jeremy was lost as well.
Jonathon- what monster would attack me and your parents little wolf, I am telling you someone is setting us up for elimination, because if Cole finds out we are all dead meat! Cole came running to the rubble mess. He just stared at Jonathon and looked at the rubble. He came charging for Jonathon.
Cole- What did you do you idiot!! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY WOLVES!!!, ANSWER MEEEEEEE!!!! Jonathon was dead in his tracks. Cole was reaching for his revolver from his belt. He was furious with Jonathon. Jonathon felt like he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Cole pulled out his revolver and held it up at Jonathon. Jonathon was scared to say anything. He wanted to say that he did not do it, but we all know Cole would not believe him.
Cole- I will not ask you again Muntz, what in the hell happened here today? Where are my two wolves at? Did you kill them? You know, you are just like your brother, neither of you care about what you kill as long as it is out of your way. Jonathon was so upset to wht happened to Jeremy as well and tried to fight back.
Jonathon- um, Cole I think my dog was trying to save those mean wolves lives. I think you planted a trap here so that he could take the fall for being acused of killing your wolves. Then you want to attack me and say that I was responsible when I was not even here to begin with! I was still walking back to camp when I heard the explosion. I did not eliminate your wolves. I swaear to you on my life I did not do it Cole! Cole did not by it for one second. He was so mad he walked away and turned his head and said back,
Cole- You and your brother and his pathetic dogs are now at war with me! Every canine you send and they enter my territory they will come up missing. That is the last you will hear of it Jonathon. Cole walked off and Jonathon walked the other way. Wane just sat there all alone.
Transition: Now
Wane so there you go Riley, Now you understand why I hate Jonathon and those dogs. What is sad is that I did not kill Jeremy. That is what Jonathon said to manipulate the other dogs. They must want me to be bad I guess. Riley was still trying to figure out the main problem of Wanes’ story.
Riley- So who was the one that killed your parents Wane?
Wane- I don’t know that answer is unknown. Master Cole said that it was Jeremy and Jonathon that set up the trap, but I don’t by that. I does not add up, how could Jeremy plant the trap and then decide to try to save my parents afterwards? Something is not right in this situation. Somebody is playing both sides and we will find out whom. Riley just remembered he had to go see Dug and Alpha. Riley started walking away when Wane called after him.
Wane- Riley, where are you going? I thought you wanted to spend time with me, come back here.
Riley- later Wane, I have to go check on something o need to go see if it is still there. I promise I will be back before breakfast. Wane watched as Riley disappeared down the hill. Wane was suspicious, something was not adding up to him. He woke up Charlie and Ray. Wane stood at the edge of the hill and looked out to the jungle.
Wane- Ray, Charlie, I need you guys to follow Riley. I want to know where he is going, he better not be going where I think he is going. Oh, and you run into Fang out there, tell him to come to the base as soon as possible. The two wolves darted off into the dark grey woods. Wane got on his communicator and told Ralph to meet up with Ray and Charlie. Wane started heading back to the base as the environment grew more eerie. Back at the cave, however, Jonathon was wide awake. He was monitoring the radar and saw dots approaching there camp. He shook Dug and Alpha awake and told them to hide in his room. Alpha did a big yawn and got up and dragged himself into the room. Wane camr into the camp once again. He stared directly into Jonathon’s eyes then began sniffing all around the location. Wane looked at Jonathon and said,
Wane- Human you can end this at any time. You don’t need to be a part of a war that does not involve you. Just give me Dug and Alpha and I will be on my way. Jonathon looked at the wolf and replied,
Jonathon- Why do you want them so bad Wane? I did not kill your parents Wane! So why must you give me a hard time every time I see you. You treat me as though you hate me and I did not do anything to you, but try to help you all these years Wane. Wane jumped at Jonathon and snarled and barked angrily,
Wane- Don’t you ever mansion my parents again! Don’t ever bring them up again, or I will kill you. You destroyed my family Jonathon, I destroyed yours. I am all about fair play, now you finally see that. Your dog Jeremy pushed them in the pit and let them die! It is your fault and I want to end you, but you are not my problem at the moment. I want those two dogs, if you see them call me on my communicator, got it?
Wane left the cave and walked out into the dark outdoors. It was very foggy now and it felt like evil was winning on this area. Jonathon walked into his room and looked at the two dogs. They looked back at him.
Alpha- Is that crazy wolf gone Master Jonathon? I mean he is getting to be a real pain in our necks.
Dug- yeah you can say that again. Ever since I met that wolf he has hated me and I don’t know why. It’s like I am a doormat and he scrapes it on his way inside a building. Wane has made it known to me that he hates me. His attitude to me is garbage, and I am telling you, I have almost had it with him. Then suddenly a voice came from the main room, it was calling for Henry and Dug. The sounded like Fang’s. The three of them walked back to the main room and saw Fang standing in the entrance.
Fang- Hey boys, how has your adventure been going so far? I have missed you guys so much, so what has been happening since I have been gone? Alpha and Dug looked at each other, and then back at Fang. Alpha went ahead and spoke so Fang could hear exactly what the wolves have been doing.
Alpha- Well Fang, where do I begin, Well first I had an encounterment with the wolves. Dug and I witnessed how crazy they really are. This guy Ralph is psycho. He beat Riley up so bad yesterday all because Wane wanted him to launch call of the wild, which by the way is destroyed. Wane is now on our tails hunting for us and trying to capture us. Then I had a moment with our friend Fernando. Apparently, he knows your master Cole, so it makes me wonder, how involved he is with you and your family. This guy was supposed to be guiding us. He is the one who offered this mission to me and Dug. Long story short, I think he is manipulating and using us to start a new war between the dogs and the wolves. Cole is just sitting back and letting this happen. Dug and I are finished with our mission with Fernando. I am choosing to stay because I am trying to clear the air about the past and bring the one responsible for Burns death to justice. Now Wane says that this poor guy killed his family, we did not know his family at the time, until Jonathon had that faceoff. So that’s it Fang we have uncovered a lot but there are still secrets under the table and we are trying to reveal the truth.
Fang stood there shocked and amassed. He took a moment to get his thoughts together then finally came out and said something,
Fang- Well if it is answers you seek, I think I can help you. Come follow me boys I want to show you something long overdue. Then all of a sudden Riley popped up he stood next to Fang and asked if he could tag along. Fang said of course and the four of them went off into the foggy morning. Jonathon called back,
Jonathon- Dug and Alpha, be back here by noon. I want us to have lunch before you guys have dinner with the wolves tonight. Alpha put his paw over his mouth telling Jonathon to shut up. The group ventured through the eerie and dark woods. The fog was impossible; Fang had to squint his eyes to see what was ahead. Fang got a glimpse of the twisty rocks ahead. He started running faster. Dug and Alpha tailed him as he led them to the entrance. You could feel presence here. Alpha was feeling a little spooked. It’s like someone was trying to get his attention.
Fang- This is it, this is where all your fellow pack mates fell. They would be exploring and they would get themselves either trapped, or blown up, by this. Fang walked up to what was left of a land mine. Alpha and Dug’s eyes got big. The two dogs immediately recognized the device.
Alpha- This is the same explosive that almost killed us earlier this week. We were heading back to camp, and all of a sudden I smelled trouble. Sure enough I asked Dug to assist me and we found landmines all around the path where we were trying to get through. I am telling you someone is trying to kill us and I promise it is probably the same one who killed Wane’s parents. Suddenly, they all heard rushing movement in the bushes. The four of them had their eyes on the bushes. Three wolves came charging out of the bushes barking viciously and snarling. The four dogs jumped when they saw Ralph, Charlie and Ray. Fang looked at the three wolves and wondered why Wane was not with them. Ralph walked up to Fang and wanted to know why he was near the restricted area with Dug and Alpha. Fang came back with a smart remark and replied,
Fang- Ralph, you better back up off me, I am your leader, the Alpha rank. I was just showing them some past events that is all, some loose ends tying up deal to be more specific. Ralph started growling as he rolled his eyes up at Fang. He wanted to attack him, but he was right. Fang was the leader and the best thing for the three wolves to do is bring all the animals back to their base and let Cole decide what their fate should be. The three wolves shoved Dug and Alpha together and told them to start walking. Charlie had Riley, and Ray had Fang. Ralph was enjoying every minute torturing Dug and Alpha. Then all of a sudden, a spirit that took the shape of a pit-bull appeared at the entrance of the twisty rocks. It was signaling for Alpha to come over. Alpha knocked Ralph hard in his face with his paw, knocking Ralph out on the ground. Alpha ran over to the spirit as he looked sadly at Alpha. The pit-bull was wearing a first gen translator collar. It started to speal as Alpha had his ears tuned in.

Weeley- Hi Doberman, my name is Weeley. I am one of the many poor souls trapped in this prison for dogs. Let me give you some critical advice, you are heading down a dark road which you will probably never come back from. Leave now while you can. If those wolves take you and Dug back, I can’t imagine what they will do to you. Do not trust anyone. Your three main targets to stay away from are: Wane, Cole Arnoldson, and Fernando Anderson. These three monsters are all involved with some kind of death on us. Do not trust anything they say, just leave now while can. Then Alpha felt something bite his ear. And drag him back to the group.
Alpha- ow! Ear, ear, ear, ear, EAR! Let go Ralph you are pulling me by my ear, LET GO NOW!!! Ralph kept dragging Alpha by his left ear and threw him back in line. Alpha felt pain from his left ear and he was trying to sooth it.
Ralph- Next time I’ll bite your ear off, now don’t ever try anything like that again Alpha, NOW MOVE IT! He nudged Dug and Alpha to pick up the speed. They entered a narrow canyon; stone walls on either side, it looked kind of familiar to the two dogs. Dug and Alpha kept walking; they came to a set of pine trees and palm trees. The group of animals cut through a field of bushes and came to a sguare structure. It looked like a big house. Wane Ralph, Charlie and Ray stood at the entrance to this place and waited. The door swung open and a pack of wild angry wolves came walking out. Dug and Alpha felt like Carl and Russell when they first met the dog pack. The wolves gained closer and closer until a man could be heard saying ‘STOP!, sit down at once!’ The wolves stopped and sat at the feet of all the animals in the group. Ray Ralph and Charlie went to the front and sat down under the patio cover and waited for Wane to come out. Wane saw that Ralph was holding Riley and wanted to end his life. Wane knew something was wrong and asked Riley what happened.
Riley- I was heading through the woods, I was trying to seek out Dug and Alpha. I wanted to hang out with them and wanted to give them a surprise. I was not doing anything bad Wane I swear to you, please don’t do anything to me.
Wane- Riley, how many times must we come to this point, you say the same thing every time and tou still disobey my commands. Riley whined as he talked with his collar,
Riley- I did not do anything wrong Wane, please I promise you I would never bertray this pack ever. I mean yeah, I will admit I have done things in the past but I am different now. Please Wane don’t do anything. I am behaving like I should. The entire pack laughed at Riley’s statement and then snarled at him.
Wane- Look Riley why don’t we……… Ralph interrupted abruptly,
Ralph- I swear to my mom underground, if you do not tell him something Wane and protect him and cattle him, We all quit, because we are all sick and tired of you treating us different from him. That is not fair to us and we want you to do something for a change. Wane walked up to Riley and just stared at him. Wane did not want to do anything because Riley had not technically turned on his family. Wane turned around and said to the furious wolf pack once again why he did what he did. He was showing his teeth when he said it.
Wane- If I have to say this one more time I will flip. I treat Riley different because he came from a hard life. He was never brought up in a wolf environment so, he is a little rusty on certain things. But one thing I will not tollaerate and I keep saying this to you guys but you are too stupid to listen. If you do something for me to end you then I will look into it. But I will not just eliminate someone just because you guys don’t like that individual. So get over it.
Alpha- I feel like I am Carl Fredricson when he first met us… The wolves turned around and looked at Alpha. Wane walked down to his position and stood at Alpha’s feet. Wane stared coldly in Alpha’s eyes and smiled at him and asked.
Wane- So, Henry, I will call you Henry because that is your real name. I don’t go by the greek alphabet like you guys do. You gave it all up, why? I just don’t get you dog, you had the whole world and you gave it all up. You had leadership, a rank, power, control, everything you could possibly imagine and you throw it all away all because of a golden retriever. Why were you in the restricted area today? Alpha was silent. Wane smiled and walked back up to the door. Master would like to see you guys, right this way. Ray and Charlie pushed Dug and Alpha into the big u-shaped room. It looked like a main lobby of a big skyscraper. They led them to a big room in front of them with red carpet all around. Cole was sitting at a desk in the corner working on some paperwork. He put down his pen and stood up from the desk. He walked out and stood in front of Dug and Alpha.
Cole- Well here they are, finally at long last, I have been waiting for you two to arrive. So did you two destroy call of the wild? Don’t even deny it because I have you on video. Check this out. Cole tuned on the TV and activated the video footage of Dug and Alpha putting the bug in the motherboard. Cole turned around and smiled at the two dogs.
Cole- I think you two are pathetically predictable. I really thought you two would come back at night time, because that is when the security system is disabled. Dug and Alpha looked at each other then back at Cole. He evil laughed as he turned his back to talk to Wane. Alpha rolled his head to the exit and nudged Dug on his side. He started walking to the exit and left the room. Cole saw Alpha and Dug leaving. He shouted after them and told Wane to capture them back and return them to the base. The world was full of barking wolves as they chased Dug and Alpha through the woods. Alpha saw a cave and grabbed Dug and ran through it. Wane, Ralph and Charlie were leading the pack of wolves. Dug and Alpha sprinted for their lives avoiding contact from Wane’s slobbery mouth.
Wane- Where on earth do you think you are going Alpha, you will not escape from me. You will never escape!! They kept running and Alpha tripped over a rock and fell to the ground. He quickly jumped up and continued running. The wolves were now gaining on the two dogs. Wane was right on Alpha’s tail trying to bite his butt. He almost had him when a bunch of rocks came crashing down from the upper ledge. Wane was whipped out by the rocks, the remaining pack dodged left down another path. Britney came running for Wane. Wane pushed the rocks off and got out and fell to the ground. He was so mad and he got up and limped to Britney. Britney said she would help him back to the base and Wane and Britney walked off together. Meanwhile Dug and Alpha ran under an overpass. A bridge of some kind. The two dogs were clearly out of breath. Alpha was so out of shape, he was getting ready to pass out on the ground. Riley got on the communicator and told Dug and Alpha it was him who created the diversion. Riley could be seen on the upper ledge waving to them.
Alpha- Riley, what in God’s name are you doing? If your pack finds out that you are helping us they will eliminate you.
Riley- Then so be it. I am tired of not doing the right thing. Helping you guys escape from these evil wolves that is my objective. I won’t stop until they are dealt with promptly. Wolves could be heard in the distance. Dug and Alpha saw them coming up fast! They quickly got up and darted down the stone path. It looked like now they were in Paradise Falls, all the decorative rocks of different shapes. This place seemed familiar. Riley jumped down from the ledge and guided Dug and Alpha down another trail. Ralph saw what Riley was doing, he was now livid.
Ralph- RILEY!!!! What the hell are you doing! Are you helping those dogs escape! ANSWER MEE! Riley ignored Ralph and nudged the two dogs to go left. Ralph activated his camera and got a hold of Wane. Wane was arriving at the base when Ralph got a hold of him,
Ralph- Wane!, pick up it is urgent!
Wane- What is it Ralph, I just got back to the base. Are you guys still chasing those dogs?
Ralph- Oh yes, but you will never guess who is trying to help them escape, find a monitor and grab some tissues, things are about to get sad. Wane rushed inside and turned on the monitor and tuned in to Ralph’s camera. Wane could not believe his eyes. He saw Riley leading the dogs to a safety zone and trying to protect him.
Wane- change of plans, you capture that wolf at all cost and bring him back to the base. I will deal with him once and for all, code e. Wane hung up and screamed. Ralph was on their tail until Riley nudged Alpha to do a sharp turn to the right. The pack lost control and ran into a thorn bush. The three animals were coming to a wall.
Riley- the only way is up I will leap and jump up, you guys do the same and I will catch you and pull you up. Riley leapt up and grabbed the edge of the ground and pulled himself up on top of the wall. Alpha ran and leapt as well and Riley caught his paws and pulled him up. The wolves were coming Dug had to leap and Get a hold of Riley’s paws. As Dug leapt Ralph grabbed hold of his legs and was about to pull riley over the wall. Alpha jumped in and pulled Riley back and helped Dug up. Dug clawed Ralph in the face and he went tumbling down to the ground. Riley Dug and Alpha ran to the edge and saw a huge waterfall leading to a giant mudpit at the bottom. Riley smiled and looked at the two dogs and said,
Riley- It has been a pleasure working with you two. I hope you guys make it home safe and I hope you enjoy the rest of your lives. I must stay here to keep the wolves off your backs. Now jump down into the pit it is the only way out of this mess. You guys got to trust me jump down now! The wolves were climbing up the wall trying to get to their position. Ralph had no choice he said sorry and pushed both dogs over the edge. They both fell all the way to the bottom and landed into the thick mud and water. Ralph watched as the dogs floated down the stream. He wished them luck and heard snarls behind him. He jumped around and saw the wolves they all surround him showing their teeth at him. One of them bit him on the ear and the other clawed his side. Then they all stopped as Charlie came up.
Charlie- You are done now my friend I don’t think you will be leaving this spot awake. Wait until Wane gets a hold of you. You will not talk your way out of this one. A group of wolves stood aside as Ralph came walking savagely to Riley and pawed him so hard that it knocked him out. They all gathered around Riley and picked up his body and started walking back to the base for further execution. Down at the bottom of the pit, Alpha raised one of his paws above the muddy water. He slowly rose from the gooey slime and dirty water. He no longer looked like a Doberman; instead he looked like a chocolate lab with pointy ears. He slowly made his way to land and put hs head on the grass. He was exhausted. He wanted to go home. He was now done with the wolves and Cole. He knew the truth about everything and wanted to leave now.
Alpha- DUG! Where are you? Come on dude, we need to leave right now this madness is going to stop. DUG! Alpha searched every single piece of the land for Dug, and then he heard a groan. Dug was lying on a patch of grass next to a stone wall. Alpha looked up on the top of the wall they just came down.
Alpha- I am surprised we are not dead Dug, we must have luck on our side. The wolves took Riley; lord knows what they are doing to him. I think we won’t be seeing Riley anymore Dug. Alpha led the way down the narrow path and came up a hill. The sun was starting to set. How long were they down there? Alpha and Dug ventured to a nearby stream and washed off all the mud off of them. Alpha now was not brown; he had his navy blue and tan fur back. The two dogs walked off and headed for Jonathon’s
Back at the base, however, Wane was notified that they brought the traitor back to the execution yard Wane walked through the door and came to. To the other wolves. He was mad as heck and he made his way down the line and came to Ralph and Charlie.
Wane- So, who is it, who is the one who slowed me down during the pursuit and caused me to fall back? Not to mention let those two canine dogs escape!
Ralph- You really want to know Ralph? You will be awfully sad when you find out who it is. Ralph and Charlie stepped aside and revealed Riley cowering on the ground. Wane’s eyes got so big. Riley was looking up at Wane scared of what would happen next. Wane just stood there shocked As he looked for the words to say.
Wane- Tell me this is a joke Riley, you are the one who slowed me down and got me hurt in the process? I am really disappointed in you. You have pulled the last straw with me. Now, no more Mr. nice guy. You blatantly disrespected this pack and helped those dogs escape, knowing that we were after them. You knew darn well we were after them and you still helped them. I am so disgusted with you Riley. I have nothing else to say. Cole came running out the base and had his shot gun ready.
Cole- So who is the one who disgraced our family? I want to know who did it. The wolves pointed to Riley. Cole just stood there in a frozen pose. His eyes locked on Wane. He remained like this for quite a bit and came back and said,
Cole- Riley I am disappointed in you. I have never been this disappointed in any of my wolves ever. Riley cowered and said,
Riley- I did not want to do this guys, it’s not a secret nobody in this pack likes me anyway, so just end it I am tired of being evil. I am being something that I am not. Those two dogs are innocent. This is not their fight we should just let them go Wane. I mean we really gave them a fright today. The pack just gasped and Cole just bowed his head in sadness. Cole told Wane that the decision was in his paws. Cole left the group and went inside. Wane walked up to Riley and put his right paw on his back.
Wane- Riley, I am truly sorry but it is stated, if any wolf turns on this family, they will receive the highest punishment, code e. Do you know what I speak of? Riley knew what code e was. Wane winked at at Charlie and Riley and they grabbed Riley and held him so Wane could perform code e.
Riley- WANE, STOP! Please don’t do this!
Wane- Sorry Riley but I don’t like you, as a matter of fact I hate you. I despise you. Today was all I needed to wipe you from existence. Besides I am doing you a favor brother, I am just going to make the end a little easier. Wane charged at Riley, the shadow of Wane going right into Riley’s neck and sticking his claws in his neck. Riley fell to the ground. Wane’s shadow is all that remained standing. Wane stood up with his blue eyes dilated. The wolf pack now was scared of Wane. This whole time they were jumping at him for being weak, well they all took that back real quick. Ralph and Charlie even froze with big eyes and their mouths open. They didn’t think that Wane would actually kill Riley. Wane turned around and told Ralph and Charlie to get back with the other wolves. Wane stood in front of everybody and said this following statement in the nicest and calmest voice,
Wane- I am only going to say this one time, your ears better be open because I will not repeat myself. What you all just witnessed is what happens when you decide not to follow the rules and stab your only friend in the back, the one who stood by your side when no one else liked you!! As I was saying, What you all just witnessed will be what happens if you don’t want to follow the rules of the pack and turn your back on your own kind. Now you see I am not playing anymore, no more Mr. nice Wane, now it is serious Wane. Everybody fall in to the dining room, dinner should be served momentarily. The entire wolf pack scrambled inside. Wane made his way to Britney and told her the plan for tonight.
Britney- I cannot believe you did that Wane, you are a true monster. You are nothing like I thought you were. You have changed and not for the better.
Wane- You better watch that mouth of yours sweet heart, those hybrids will be coming soon. And I am not threating you. I am telling you. Smart mouth me one time Britney and it will happen, got me? Britney said nothing as she watched Wane enter the base.
Wane- Britney, you better get ready, your should be coming any minute, and you are the bait. Come on get in here and freshen up for Henry. Britney ran towards the door and closed it behind her. The sunset was nice and big in the sky. Everything glowed a bright yellow orange as Dug and Alpha made their way back to Jonathon. He was standing on the hillside with his arms folded. He was watching as the two dogs slowly made their way up the hill.
Jonathon- Well what the heck happened to you guys? You two have been gone since this morning what in God’s name did you two do? Alpha was so tired he could not speak clearly,
Alpha- Master, Dug and I are going home. I cant do this anymore. We almost got killed again today by Wane and the wolves. We almost did not stand a chance of survival. Thank goodness for Riley, otherwise we would not be here. So we are leaving tonight and avoiding a war tomorrow morning. Jonathon told them to stop and follow him to his camp. Jonathon pointed to Fang sitting in the corner waiting for Dug and Alpha to come. Also Jonathon had some bad news about what had been going on at home while Dug and Alpha were gone all day.
Jonathon- Boys, I have some bad news, Carl Frederickson, is um, well not in good health. Beta called me shortly after you guys left and told me he had a massive cough attack and fell this morning. He was treated and he was sent to the hospital this morning and is in critical care. I know you guys are facing a situation of your own but I thought you two should know since you are leaving in the morning. Carl was released this afternoon thank goodness, but his time is limited. Beta just wanted you guys to know the truth. Wane asked if the two dogs wanted to still meet up and they said yes. Jonathon wished them luck and Fang got up and led the two dogs off into the sunset. It was about to set, and it was getting dark. The jungle looked orange as the sun was almost gone. Fang led the two dogs into the new darkness of the jungle, to meet with the mad wolves once again.
