This is one particular Mewtwo and Leaf art I had been planning for a long while for this year’s Autism Acceptance Month, especially since Leaf is autistic in The Mindwave Chronicles. I didn’t need to seek advice to come up with a background this time. Heck, I even finished it before April!

Here, I included a Togepi doll, a chewable necklace, a bag of marbles, a fidget cube, a glitter stick, a marble maze and a fidget spinner for Leaf. Mewtwo is using one hand to levitate his Master Ball, a pair of Chinese baoding balls and an Itemfinder. Leaf is even wearing red for this occasion.

Throughout the years of Autism Speaks spewing out ableist messages, Mewtwo has one iconic quote that can be enough to denounce their eugenics based agenda.

"I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are."

This quote can counter such prejudices against people of different races, ethnicities, genders and even sexual orientations. We can also extend that to people with disabilities.
