Tails will get his yet. He can do all the speed moves as Sonic, plus he can fly.

Tails will be the best aspect of the sequel, I mean I heard some theaters cheering when they saw Tails.

I sort of wish Sega would make a Luigi's Mansion equivalent with Tails though. The sidekicks are more interesting than the actual heroes lol

What makes Tails, not just better than Luigi, but the best video game sidekick of all time (not counting your personally selected sidekicks to the trainer in Pokemon) is that he's not just a Player 2 pallet swap of Sonic. He's a unique character with his own unique abilities.

Which is why Tails will not just be a tag-along in the sequel; he will have his own individual part to play. And, if everybody plays their cards right, that just might translate into him getting his own spinoff a-la Puss In Boots.

The only one I really worry about is Shadow. He's got a big enough fan base that it'll be inevitable they'll feel pressure to include him, and while I do agree he's a great character with great potential, he also has the potential to go horribly awry and derail the entire franchise.

Sonic is to X-men as Shadow is to Dark Phoenix. IE: We all know it's coming, and we're all praying they don't fuck it up.
