A stream commission done by the delightful
derrysome one day.

I wanted to show another co-worker for Dana and her first day on the job. She will undoubtedly be surrounded by those large and in charge, fertility-wise. The question is, who should she encounter? I'm interested in hearing feedback of potential co-worker species and tropes and the like. Dana's story kinda pauses here (I have a growing backlog of images to release) until I get more for her, so hopefully I can get back on her soon! She has plenty of growth ahead of her, in a few ways. Dana looked at her reflection and tugged gently at her suit jacket. It had been some time since she last wore the outfit, but she always found it to be good for a professional look. Still, concerns bubbled up as she adjusted her shirt and pants once more. Hopefully the team was open to her choice of clothing. The last thing she needed was to alienate herself from her colleagues within the first day of the job. Maybe she should have considered a one-piece dress or something red. She looked back to the bed, now covered with multiple additional outfits. Perhaps what she wore was more for a second week sort of occasion...
“C’mon, Dana, we have to get going! I know they said not to rush, but you being antsy is starting to make me antsy. We can’t have an endless cycle of stress on the first day!”
Brittney, Dana’s calico friend, stood at the condo entrance, tapping her feet impatiently. The two had gotten used to the new living arrangement for the last few days, but Dana was still a fish out of water when it came to living in the big city. Hopefully Dana would grow out of the culture shock in the coming months, she thought.
“Sorry, sorry. I know they didn’t really care what we wore today, but I wanted to be sure they didn’t think I wasn’t serious or something,” the otter rushed out of her room, quickly adjusting her hair.
“Really? They aren’t going to go through all this trouble and then drop you like a hot spud two seconds in. If anything, you have a few weeks before they hate you,”
“Britt, please!” Dana lightly bumped her tail to her friend’s side, causing both to giggle.
“Come on, let’s go.”
The condo was located a few miles away from the Much Love Corporation office complex, so a drive was still necessary, at least given their timeframe. While the company did provide a Bus schedule that was quite convenient for the pair, Brittney decided that a taxi ride was the most appropriate transport for their inaugural day at work. She gestured to the idling taxi, its aged red panda driver standing beside it whilst checking his phone.
“You should have told me you had a cab waiting! I would have gotten ready so much faster!”
“Haha, don’t worry, I paid him a good tip. Besides, I do want you to have a good first day, and I’d rather rush you only a little bit, D.”
The otter shook her head gently as all three occupants entered the cab and embarked on their uneventful trip to the complex. For Dana, it was not quite uneventful, watching the taxi driver turn and change lanes between other taxis and vehicles across the city. She looked out her window, catching sight of a number of large buildings cutting into the sky, some sporting large logos and advertisements for the many people walking down the sidewalks. Dana did not focus too much on the crowd, unlike Brittney, who watched dozens of furs, scalies and otherwise walking or waddling on their way. Brittney was about to point out one particularly hulking orca nearby when the taxi turned sharply toward the complex. The driver glanced into the rear-view mirror as they approached the entrance.
“I overheard that you two were new here, right? Be sure to try out Mickey Delights a few minutes walk from the complex. Some of the best burgers and ice cream smoothies you can get around these parts. Just be sure you know what you’re asking for,”
“Do they have special ingredients or something like that?” Dana asked, interest piqued, though mostly for the smoothies.
“...Something like that, yeah. I’d suggest going with a colleague who has gone before. They might know a thing or two about secret menu items. Took me two years before I knew they had cinnamon buns,”
“Huh, weird they’d hide those,”
“Well, my pancreas was happy I didn’t know about them for a while at least!”
Before the conversation could segue into another notable topic, the taxi slowed down to one of the complex’s buildings, standing tall and filled with windows and salmon brickwork. Very little was visible of the interior from where they sat, nor would the inside be visible once they stepped out of the cab. Instead, Dana saw a reflection of herself and began to gently tug at her clothes again, at least until Brittney patted her shoulder to move on.
Once inside, the familiar decor of the office lobby greeted the duo as it had greeted them for their individual interviews. The floor was covered in part by a carpet and furnished with four tan and grey couches, two of which were occupied with other furs looking through paperwork or relaxing. A security desk stood at the opposite side, and a chameleon yawned behind the desk despite the sight of new people in the lobby. To the right of the entrance, a large banner ran across the wall, complete with the company logo and a picture of a fox family huddled together for a photo. It had not crossed Dana’s mind until that second visit that the family was not exactly the usual size. Back at home, the largest fox family she knew of had three kids max, but the Much Love picture of the apparently-everyday fox family doubled that figure.
Brittney had already made her way toward the security desk and was getting a temporary badge when Dana followed suit. Both newbies made their way through the brief security check-in and found themselves in a hallway with a number of directions toward particular elevators and staircases to different floors. The calico tilted her head at the directions map and glanced back to Dana.
“Dana, you said you’re job’s on the fourth floor?”
“Yeah, I think so,”
“From what I see here, there are elevators to get there from another side of the building, but there’s a spare one down the right. I’m on floor three, and that elevator is to the left of here,”
“So, we split up?”
“Seems like it. I’ll let you know when I’m heading to lunch or some such. See you later!”
Dana had barely said anything back to Brittney before she disappeared around the corner, and so the otter began her short journey down the rather quiet hallway in the opposite direction. She knew she should have looked up or asked where to go when she was getting interviewed, and now she was left going to the only elevator on that side that could get her there. Hopefully the elevator was not going to make her pop up somewhere she shouldn’t have been. Maybe she could ask the front desk for directions or to call her manager for help. However, before she could reconsider some oddball alternative, Dana found herself in front of the lone elevator to guide her. With a sigh and a push of a button, she was greeted to the bright interior of the elevator. It looked like a simple standard elevator, nothing she would even try to remember. She walked inside and looked for her floor on the banal display.
“Okay, fourth floor fourth floor…”
“Wait! Keep the elevator open, please!”
Dana pressed the Hold button stepped back for the hurried woman to enter, but the first thing she saw come into the elevator was an orange dress cascading over a hefty ball, followed immediately by a panting panda woman. Dana would have been particularly surprised to see a panda so early in her city life - their presence in her hometown was minimal at best - had the otter not been so focused on the presumably many more pandas within her. With each step further into the elevator, the panda’s motherly swells took up more of the space available for Dana to occupy. As a single occupant, Dana was more than capable in the room, and the panda would have been an acceptable addition to the lift, as well. However, the new occupant was carrying many stowaways, and Dana pressed back to the wall to allow them more space without causing any potential qualm toward their mother.
The motherly panda rubbed the side of her head while she finished catching her breath. She wore three little earrings per ear, and her hair was kept short and dyed to an un-panda-like blue. Once she got her breath back, the panda let out a soft chuckle and looked to the shorter otter beside her.
“Oh, thank you, miss! I have a meeting in a little bit, and Facilities are still working on a few of the larger elevators,”
“Y-you’re welcome, ma’am,” Dana responded quickly, trying to avoid asking about why larger elevators were needed.
“Ma’am? Hehe, Aura’s fine. You new around here?”
“Yeah. I’m Dana…”
The doors closed behind Aura, and the otter soon realized that she had, in her haste, forgotten to press the button to her floor.
“Um, I forgot to get my floor. I’m on the fourth,”
“Fourth floor? What a coincidence, I’m going up there, too! Just a second.”
The motherly panda shifted herself a little forward to get to the button and gently pressed it. In her movement, Dana was allowed to relax just a moment before Aura returned to where she and her cub-filled middle stood. The panda looked to see Dana lifting herself to give her litter more space in the crowded elevator, and she smiled brightly.
“I’m sure the kids would thank you for the help, too, if they were able to talk,”
“Oh, uh, well ‘you’re welcome’ to them, too…” her cheeks flushed as the elevator made its ascent.
“What department are you heading to, by the way?”
“Um, I believe it was Customer Management, Relations, and Analysis. It was a pretty hefty name, so I think I’m missing something,”
“Really? Well, you should have nothing to worry about. I work with that team often, and they seem like an easy-going bunch. Well, except for maybe Wendy, but she’s more bark than bite.”
Dana only nodded and looked to the elevator’s floor counter.
“And you don’t need to worry about me or the kids, either. I don’t bite, and the babies can’t right now, even if they could!” she giggled.
The otter nodded once more and relaxed a bit more beside the fertile panda. It was just then that the belly bumped out toward her, gently brushing at Dana’s dress.
“Oh! It seemed one of them wanted to thank you more personally,” Aura giggled once more.
“Y-yeah, hehe,” before Dana could ask about due dates that may or may not have passed some time ago, the elevator made an emphatic sound and stopped. “Uh, I guess you get out first?”
The panda nodded gently as the door slid open. A couple others stood at the elevator entrance, waiting to get in, themselves, but upon seeing the backside of a rounded panda, they stepped aside to let her step back and allow Dana entrance. The others made their move into the elevator, and Aura gestured down the hall.
“Your team is down there, Section B around the corner. I’m going right here to Section A. I’ll be seeing you, Dana. Welcome to the company! Thanks again!”
“You’re welcome, Aura.”
Aura and Dana shook hands, though it required a little movement off to the side so as not to hug her litter in the process, and like her friend before, Dana’s new colleague walked out of sight, leaving her alone in the much less quiet office hallway. The otter shifted her attention back to first-day job jitters, and she swiftly made her way down the path Aura set - just one corner away from her new department. Between the bun-filled doctor and the elevator-occupying panda mother, Dana had a growing suspicion her teammates were going to be quite a far cry from those in her last job.
She just had to meet them first.
