When I first saw the armour the Tau used in Warhammer 40k: Dawn Of War's 'Dark Crusade' expansion, I initially assumed they were a fully-cybernetic race with some divine inspiration (like the semi-Terminator, semi-Borg, semi-Cybermen of the Necrons, but their intelligence and corpus-mind powered by a Warhammer/Chaos Death God) or remained ensconced within and dependent upon their prosthetic armour or bodies most or all of time. Surprised the Beerusjabbers out of me when I saw them au naturel. ^_^
I admit to being only moderately familiar with the breadth of Warhammer 40,000 mythos and racial business; I've played the board-game Space Hulk (with the Genestealers) a number of times (that was the first 40,000 or Warhammer game I played, and for years never knew there was a whole universe behind it, with Space Hulk based on just a small bit of it) and I love the Dawn of War RTS series; everything else I know in bits and pieces. I will happily admit, I knew that was a Tau in armour when I saw your post linked on Twitter (from whence my coming to see your artwork came) and then here on FurAffinity to see the original posting, and I like it a lot! :) Thank you kindly for the sharing, ami.

Oh I would advise you to both look into warhammer lore, as well as to beware of its assorted complexity and depth!
As for this figure, he is actually a Tau Hero- Commander Farsight. The very long and short of it is that he the leader of the Farsight Enclave- esentially a secessionist element of the Tau Empire that survives without the Ethereal caste leaders, something those leaders have often tried to say is impossible. He is still loyal to the Tau however does not support the Empire's Leaders, making him I guess for want of a better term, a revolutionary movement

I'd be wise to inspect some rulebooks and detailed flavour-books, then. The Emperor Projects! ^_^ In fairness, I'm kind of curious right now; and I plan on peeking a wee bit. I'll at least understand more about this particular Enclave, and the hero-gentleman pictured above in your drawing.

I've got you on Twitter, good Sir, and if Discord comes up as a method for contact, I know where to look for your username (on your FA listing, I mean). Thank you again for that, chummer! <3

EDIT: That 'hidden comment' was mine; I really don't like how if you're posting quickly, it's not always clear to me (and how I process visual information) if when I'm posting, it will add a reply to a reply or a new root post. I'm sorry about cluttering up your comments like that, and I'll try to avoid it in the future.
