Dreams Clad in Snow
A long commissioned piece for
riffuchs. I can't really say how many hours I've spent with this picture, but it sure is the one that took me the longest to finish - ever. (I'm not sure how much this tells about my workflow ... ^^)

The perfect reading window. I could spend hours there wrapped in a blanket, leaning on a big pillow, with a cup of tea and a long book. The wood work, the sill and wood slats framing the glass panes are truly well done. Old architecture is the best! The natural lighting is simply gorgeous. Cudos, too, on those chiffon curtains. You captured the gauzy view through them perfectly. The landscape is so sumptuous, and I love the big, lone tree on the lawn. The mountains and snow-covered evergreens are lovely. I like the shadow the bare tree with the bench casts, though shouldn't shadows in snow at sunset be blue? At least, that's the color I've always seen in snow. Maybe it's different in the mountains. Who cares? I love the whole thing anyway. It's so moody and full of depth. Most don't take the time to do anything so detailed. I wish I could hang it on me wall. :)
