"Beautiful," she said, sounding a bit bored. With a sigh, she drew a knife from it's hidden sheath and angled it into the air to reflect a glint of crimson sunlight on the tip of the blade. Silent, she plunged it deep into the soft dirt beside her.
"I'm sorry," he said. "We can go if you want."
"I know," she whispered, resting her head against his, unable to hold back her smile any longer. "But I don't want to."
Who would have thought they'd end up here, together... on the edge of the world... with all of infinity ahead of them... and the sunset a million miles away.
