Thank you! Supposedly the creature is COVERED in slime but not COMPRISED of slime and so no melt is occurring! I understand the appearance of melting a bit better so I am not surprised this looks like it might be that.

I looked up "goop" thinking it was a generic synonym for slime but apparently Gwyneth Paltrow owns or is involved with a company called "Goop" that sells pseudoscientific "wellness" snake oil products and it dominated the results which turned up.
