Danielle hails from a village made up entirely of Ninetales and Vulpix. For years the breeding rights over the females of the village were kept exclusively for the elder leader of the village, a tyrant who ruled basically with an iron fist... er... paw.
At just 16 Danielle was playing in the forest just outside the guild when she stumbled into a Espeon practicing using his psychic powers on nearby flora. She watched and became mesmerized by the Espeon's movements and powers, and eventually came out and revealed herself. This startled the Espeon. She asked him if she could learn what he was doing, but he said that because she was a fire type, it would be a bit difficult, but she insisted. She was a bit too cute to ignore, so the Espeon decided to humor her for a bit at least.
As they trained, he noticed something... off about her. He had heard of Vulpix and Ninetales having very latent psychic powers within them, but he never thought he'd meet one that could tap into their own hidden power. He took her as his apprentice, and they trained in the forest for months, sometimes traveling outside the forest to caves, rivers, and even other towns. Danielle's mother didn't really mind, she just assumed she was out exploring like all young Vulpix do.
Two yerars passed. On her 18th birthday, Danielle was presented with a fire stone, as all Vulpix acquired on their 18th birthday in the village. She transformed in a absolutely gorgeous Ninetales, possibly one of the prettiest in the village. Which... also meant she was old enough for... Breeding. Fortuantely the ceremony and passing of her breeding rights (which she had always thought was completely wrong) was later that week, since they had to gather all the Vulpix who had just evolved for their birthday. That night she snuck out of the house to meet her mentor.
He was waiting for her in the forest, and gawked at her new form as she approached him. He hopped down from the stump he was sitting on and revealed that tonight they would make her a true Psychic user, having finally passed all his tests and trials. He warned her that this not only would change her typing, but it might also affect her looks.
She told him she was ready. After this she said she was leaving the village for good, as she didn't want to become some concubine for some "Old f*ck".
He told her to lie down, and started the procedure. She felt cold, her mind was swimming with thoughts of everything from death to her older brother, to the espeon, the fire stone, her life flashed before her eyes, it felt like she was floating and then... a bright light. Wait, he didn't mention that. Then darkness... Pure darkness. She couldn't move. She couldn't think. Then... the feeling returned, and suiddenly she felt her whole body hitting the ground with a loud THUD.
She slowly got up and shook herself off, and looked over at her Espeon mentor, who was lying on his side. She ran over to him and found that he was shivering big time. When she got him to speak he said that everything went wrong, and that he had actually LOST her for a bit, but managed to bring her back... at the expense of a lot of his power. She ended up nursing his back to at least being able to walk. That when he revealed to her that she was lucky he was able to bring her back like that... But even though he almost lost her... it worked. Her typing was no longer fire, but Dark/Psychic. She was thrilled to absolute death. Now she could leave that Arceusforsaken village.
The Espeon smiled, but told her since she was now officially Psychic, that he had nothing else to teach her. He told her she should go home and gather her things if she was to leave, but upon her return he was gone. Only a note telling her not to look for him, that he didn't want to bring any more harm to her.
Ever since she's been searching for the Espeon, she never got to properly thank him for helping her. But still she searches, and during her search has led to her meeting her Husband Richard, and having 3 kids and adopting 1. She's led a very good life and has almost given up the search, but any time she gets to explore, she keeps an ear out for the Espeon.
The fate of her home village will be told in Steven's ref... so look forward to that one!
