Chapter 13: Elimination.
The night sky was rolling in as the sun was setting. Fang led the dogs to the entrance of the base. Alpha and Dug gulped as they reached the entrance.
Alpha- So, Fang what exactly happened to Riley, why haven’t you said anything about that? Fang turned his head and with sad eyes said,
Fang- Wane uhh, Wane terminated him this afternoon when they brought him back to the base. Wane is now a true monster and he must be stopped. I am not overstepping him now. He has made it clear that if anyone betrays the pack again, they would be next.
The wolf led the two dogs to the entrance. Ralph and Charlie were smiling evilly at them. Alpha and Dug grinned as they walked past the two wolves. They entered the big giant room filled with all the wolves. Everyone was eating, chatting, or playing poker around a huge table. The room grew quiet when all eyes went to the two dogs. Wane came walking out one of the rooms. He snarled at Dug and showed his teeth at Alpha. He said sarcastically,
Wane- Welcome my little fresh meats to our home. Lets try this again since we got off on the wrong foot earlier today. Dug you will dine with the wolves, and Alpha, you have a date with your girlfriend Britney. She is waiting for you in the private dining room down the hall. Dug did not want to dine with the other wolves. He suggested he join Alpha and Britney. Wane jumped at Dug and snarled and showed his teeth at him.
Wane- I said no!! Those two have some things to talk about and I said you are dining with wolves, END OF STORY!! Dug was shaking; Wane’s thunder voice was intimidating, and dark. Dug sat up and walked to the poker table where a few wolves were sitting. Wane watched as Fang led Alpha to the private dining room. Britney was sitting at the table all by herself. Alpha walked over and asked if he could join her. Her sparkling eyes dazzled and Alpha started to blush. Fang left the two dogs alone and Britney made conversation first.
Britney- so, you really like me huh dog, what is your name? Alpha was dolling a little and finally said stuttering,
Alpha- A-Al-Al-Alphha? Yeah, Alpha is my name. Well that is my rank name, my real name is Henry. Nobody really calls me by my real name, but you may call me by my real name.
Britney- awe, I lie that name. I think it sounds so cute. Well I am Britney if you didn’t know already. I am the only female in this wolf pack and trust me; it is hard living here sometimes. The two dogs were at peace, the room was ambient lit. A big lantern on the table illuminated the dark room Britney asked Alpha how long he has been a member of the dog pack. Alpha said most of his life. Britney saw a sad look on his face and asked what was keeping him down.
Alpha- Well Britney, I am just over with all the darkness here. I just want to go back home to California on my nice comfortable dog bed, treats every day, the dog park, the pet store, everything. I really miss that hometown and I want to see my fellow pack mates again. Britney, do you know why Wane is after Dug and I? I mean the actual truth why? Britney took a sip of water and looked directly in Alpha’s eyes and said,
Britney- listen to me very carefully Henry, I will tell you, but you cannot say anything. Five years ago, after the death of Wane’s parents, A new order was formed. Wane vowed to capture all the dogs of your master and make them join his pack. However, that was not the case with your family, he woulf go straight for the pack leaders after Jeremy and try to manipulate them in joining his side. They dismissed him, and what did Wane do? You probably already know Henry, so when he got to your predecessor, I think his name was Burns? He finally gave up and Cole found a pack of wolves and recruited them all. He was trying to rip your family apart Henry and that is why, they been trying to capture you guys. With you and Dug gone, the other dogs will get worried and declare war on the wolves. That is exactly what Wane wants to do.
The chef rolled in with a rolling cart and stopped at the table. He served Britney her food and stopped at Alpha. Alpha looked at him hardly and noticed he was a pit-bull and not a wolf. He pulled the chef hat off and saw the big pit-bulls head. Alpha jumped on the table in attack postion and showed his teeth at the dog.
Alpha- Randal!!!
Randal- HENRY!! Long time no see brother. How have you been I heard you were now pack leader of Muntz’s pack. How is that pathetic old man?
Alpha- Well Randal if you were part of the family you would know that we are no longer here on the land. We are back in America living the normal life. So this is where you ran off to huh? Master destroyed your collar and now you have a new one. Why am I not surprised, you leave our family, create a drama scene, destroy our home, and yet here you are standing before me. Randal smiled and said yes. Alpha jumped off the table and chased Randal out the room.
Britney- ALPHA!! Stop right this second, SIT!! Alpha stopped at the doorway and realized what he was doing. Britney was furious. She walked over to Alpha and dragged him by his new collar. Alpha was embarrassed of his behavior. Britney let go and told him to sit back down. She was squinting at Alpha, her eyes looked evil themselves. He apologized to her and began eating his dinner. Britney watched to make sure Alpha was not going to create another outburst. After dinner, the two dogs just hung out and chit chatted for a while. Meanwhile, Dug was stuck with the other wolves; they had challenged him to a game of poker. Dug was a good player and he won the first few games. Ralph decided to join in the last game. Ralph was the all time winner of poker in the wolf pack and wanted to put Dug to the ultimate test. Dug managed to beat Ralph by a landslide and Dug became the new champion of the wolf pack. All the wolves howled and praised Dug. Ralph stuck his paw out and congratulated him on his win. He had never been beaten before and he now respected Dug for it.
Ralph- I must say dude, you really have a good hand in poker. I mean you play very smart. You have got to teach me your tricks. I am emailed at your performance tonight man. The wolf pack continued to praise Dug on his victories. Wane was watching from a hallway around a corner. He walked into another room and came to Fernando and Cole.
Wane- I haye that dog so much I could go in there and end him right now. I don’t even know why Alpha brought that loser here anyway! Fernando turns around and walks over to the wolf I have a special assignment for you Wane, I want you to take the manta jet and fly to Paradise Falls. There is a structure up there what looks like a house, I want you to breech it and find out who lived in it. I think it will lead us to where the new owner is of those dogs. If we wipe him out, they will have no choice but to switch to our side. Wane evil smiled and immediately ran out the door. He silenced the dining room and asked for Charlie to join him in a personal assignment. Dug wanted to know what the assignment was. Wane snarled at him and said none of his business and darted down a long narrow hallway. Dug got up and followed the two wolves and they entered a giant hanger which had a jet in the middle. It had wings shaped like a manta ray. The two dogs entered the jet and started it up. Dug saw a logo on the side of the jet, LI inc. Dug had no idea what that meant byt the jet rose in the air and it took off out the big open door and disappeared in the night. Dug was now suspicious. Je ran back inside and came back to the dining room. The wolves were looking at him in surprise. They were wondering what was going on too. The Alpha class were all in the corner, separated from the lower class ranks. Ten wolves were sneering and laughing at Dug. Then Cole entered the room and Fernando followed, the same time Britney and Alpha were walking out as well. Right when Alpha was about to tell Dug it was time to go he saw Fernando standing next to Cole by the rear hallway entrance.
Alpha- Fernando, what in the heck are you doing here with Cole? So this where you have been going all these years huh? You have been partners with this evil man Fernando, when you were supposed to be protecting us? Fernando smiled and folded his arms and replied,
Fernando- awe, you are shocked to find out that I was not only helping Muntz, I was helping Cole. Since we are all here I think we should reveal the truth on both families. Why are we here and why everyone is bad. Because of me, that is right, me. I am the one responsible for all the deaths of those weak little dogs over the years. My plan was brilliant; I would set up mines around the entrances of the labornith and wait for one dog to trip the explosive. Then the wonderful sound of howling and barking, oh it soothed my ears with satisfaction. I got to admit, Cole paid a good amount of money over the years to make this all possible. Cole ordered the attacks, and I performed them, with the exception of a good paycheck.
Cole- that’s right Alpha you know the truth about what your family has endured over the last couple of decades. So now you know I was after vengeance. Your master cut me out of the biggest reward of our lives. He caused me to do this and I am sorry, but I will do the same thing to you if you don’t switch to our side. Fernando put his hand up and said that that was not the only family he had reined. Cole looked at him and said, oh that’s right telling Alpha about this.
Fernando- On that dark day five years ago, I was planting new traps for Cole. Well Daniel and Maggie, the two lead wolves at that time were hunting for intruders. They were trying to make Wane a wolf nd teach him how to hunt, but he was not interested in that. Cole wanted me to take action. So I planted a laser mine on a nearby cliff with stone rocks surrounding it. I watched the whole thing and Jeremy was actually the one who entered first then the two wolves. I watched as they tried to accept each other as friends and then, the mine went off and all three of them went down. Wane was dramatized and never the same after that. The wolf pack stared at Fernando in shock as they could not believe what they were hearing. Alpha was about to charge at Fernando, Britney held him back and said it was not worth it.
Alpha- You sick man, you are the reason for everything! You are the first one I am taking out Fernando; you are a dark evil man that needs to be dealt with once and for all. Fernando evils laughed and said bring it. Cole said enough and something afterwards that was the icing on the cake.
Cole- The reason you all were defeated because you all are stupid, you never know when something is coming your way. You all do whatever comes in that stupid brain of yours, and ultimately costing you your lives. It is not our fault for your stupidity, which is your fault. Alpha grabbed Dug and sprinted out of the base. Cole screamed for them to come back. They ran through the hallway with the exit door, the door on the left led to a lower level of the base. Alpha ripped the door open and ran back outside. It was night time and the moon shown bright and full in the sky. The two dogs ran for their lives and waited in the jungle for Fang and Britney if theywere going to show. Fang and Britney looked at each other than started backing up towards the exit.
Cole- Where do you think your going you two? Don’t even think about running out there. Cole raised his shot gun. Fang shoved Britney to the hall and ran towards the exit. Two gun shots followed and they missed. Fang and Britney ran through the exit. And out in the open courtyard. Cole came running out firing several shots after them. They were so lucky to escape the gunfire and make it safely in the jungle. Cole ran back inside and ran to his room and put Britney and Fang on his wanted list. He wanted them dead for betrayal to the pack.
Cole- Just like Riley, these two will receive the ultimate punishment for turning on their family. Britney will be in Wane’s paws when he gets back. She will have a family of wolf puppies this time. I will not stop Wane. She has outdone herself this time, Fang is all mine. Fernando put his hand on Cole’s shoulder and offered to do the mission instead. He wanted to execute the remaining dogs on the checklist and retire with gladness. Cole accepted the request and Fernando left his room. Fernando took all his weapons and ventured out into the calm night of the jungle. He turned on his tracker and was tracking Britney’s collar. The dogs were walking in the lonely jungle they were walking up a hill and Fang started a conversation,
Fang- that is crazy, we now know the corporate who is behind these attacks. I am mind blown. Fernando must be removed from this situation. He has done so much evil and dark behavior long enough. Now it is our time to shine and take him out. The other animals followed Fang to the top of the hill. They now could see over the tree line nothing but openness and a full moon. Alpha saw in the distance a mountain with a familiar waterfall in the middle of it.
Alpha- no way, we cannot be that close to it. That is Paradise Falls directly in the distance guys. I really think we should journey out there and see what lies ahead. Then the animals heard a rushing sound coming from behind them, then a man came walking through the woods. It was Fernando, he was approaching them slowly with fists clutched and stopped at the foot of Fang. He looked at the four animals and shook his head.
Fernando- so, this where you guys want to have our battle, I must say, I really like the view, ah Paradise Falls, a land lost in time bla, bla bla. You know, I think Wane is there right now, at that house that is on the edge you guys see it? It is a little hard to see but I see it. Wane is looking for some evidence of who used to live there. Alpha and Dug looked at each other. ‘How did he find out where Master Carl lived’, they both thought. Fernando stood ready to attack Fang first. Fang jumped at Fernando and Fernando caught his collar and flung him to the nearby bushes. Alpha charged next, he bit Fernando’s ankle hard and Fernando shook him off. He zapped Alpha with electricity from a zapper he had. Dug grabbed his arm and bit it hard, forcing Fernando to drop the zapper. Then Fernando reached for his hand held gun and started firing all around. Everybody dodged his bullets and Britney came around and tackled him to the ground. She grabbed the gun and threw it over the cliff. Fernando shoved her off and stood ready for another attack.
Fernando- alright, you guys want to play ruff, you got it, and once I am done here you all will be thrown over the cliff in the pitch black pit of dome. I am through messing around with all of you, it is time you received your punishments you deserve.
Fang- no monster I think it is your turn for a punishment! Fang dropped Fernando on the ground and chewed him up like a rag doll, then threw him over to the cliff. Fernando rolled and almost fell off the cliff. He was hanging on for dear life. Fang walked up and scratched his left hand with his claws. Fernando screamed in agony. He looked up at the wolf and had big eyes as he looked behind him.
Fernando- please Fang, don’t do this, I know I have done evil and I am a dark man but I can change. Please don’t execute me! Fang bent down and showed his teeth at Fernando and said it was too late for change. The damage had already been done. Fang scratched the other hand and Fernando let go. Fang watched as he floated into the darkness and disappeared in the blackness of the pit. Fernando was now gone. Two more remained. Fang walked up to the others and asked if they were ok. The others said they were fine. Alpha said that the one behind everything was now eliminated. He had to go back to Jonathon’s and ask if he had a flying machine available. They ran down the hillside and made their way to Jonathon’s camp. The four animals approached the camp and met Jonathon at his workstation. Fang told Jonathon that his killer had been taken care of. Jonathon was relieved to hear this. Jonathon said that there was a helicopter in Sunset Village they could use to fly to Paradise Falls. Britney sat down at the workstation and looked at the radar. There was no action going on. Jonathon turned off his lamp and headed outside, he led them back to the village. The moon was shinning bright along the trail. They all followed Jonathon to the village. There was a garage in the back of the village. Raphael met them in the middle of the village. He heard the good news. He was so happy to hear that Fernando has faced his fate.
Raphael- Great job everybody o taking out Fernando. He was a terror to this village and a disgrace to our kind. I never thought the day would ever come when someone would finally end Fernando. The dark cloud has been lifted off this village. With the call of the wild destroyed and Fernando gone, our village is now free to anyone to come and enjoy themselves. So what are you guys doing here at this hour, it is almost midnight.
Alpha- we need to borrow a flying machine, I believe that Wane is at Paradise Falls and we need to get there pronto, can you help us Raphael? Raphael opened the garage door and revealed a helicopter sitting on a helipad. Jonathon thanked him for letting them borrow the aircraft. Jonathon and the animals jumped on board and started up the aircraft. Jonathon started rising in the air and got high enough above the trees to see where he had to go.
Alpha- We must get to Paradise Falls and stop Wane; I believe he is in our Master’s old house that landed on the Falls. Jonathon started heading in the direction of the big mountain. As they were getting close Fang pointed to the sky, he saw something floating in the sky.
Fang- what the heck is that thing floating in the sky? It looks like some kind of aircraft or something. They got to the Falls abd had eyes on Carl’s house. Alpha jumped out and told them to lay low. Jonathon landed the helicopter and everyone got out. The full moon in the sky left the structure looking like a shadow. The floating object in the sky looked like a jet. Fang now knew it was the manta jet. Wane was definitely here! The group stood and looked in the direction of the house and knew what lied ahead!
