Lady Reina Rises: Rubber Rockets Invade Galar [Story COM]
Here is the story of how Ricky the Rubber Rocket Alolan Rattata met and convinced a shy, unassuming coffee girl with simple dreams of becoming a Pokémon trainer into becoming Lady Reina, Team Rubber Rocket's newest and possibly most powerful recruit, bent on conquering the Galar Region...
Enjoy. 😈
“And here is your espresso,” Reggie said, holding back a tired sigh as she handed the beverage over to the young woman. “Thank you for coming, and I hope-”
“Yeah yeah, drone,” snapped the platinum blonde, uppity customer, “‘Have a happy day’ and all that stock, boring drivel daddy has you say. God, you are such a drone that I don’t think this espresso will help me through this.”
There were a few snickers, and Reggie’s right eye began twitching. In the back of her head, all she could think was, just get lost, Caitlin. I really, REALLY don’t need you right now.
Reggie was working at Quick Energy, a local coffee shop in her hometown. She was working there to help pay for her apartment and, eventually, her ultimate goal. She wanted to finally put enough money together to begin her own personal Pokemon journey. It cost a lot more than she expected, but that did not matter. She was more than willing to put up with a little manual labor to achieve her dream.
The only unforeseen issue was the café owner’s daughter. A bratty lady around her age named Caitlin. She was an utter frustration to Reggie with her nasty attitude, how she constantly looked down on her, and how she liked bringing in this mean girl squad with her to back her up. It was an irritation like no other to her.
You can do this, Reggie thought, sighing a breath of relief as Caitlin and her friends went over to their corner to chat away about whatever nonsense they were on about, just two more months and I should be good…
The jingle of the front door snapped her attention away from her thoughts. She felt her cheeks warm, her heart race just a touch. In had walked a figure that excited her greatly.
“Hello,” said the young man that approached. He flashed a smile and a wink, her heart beating even harder.
“H-hello Kyle,” she answered. Remain professional, Reggie. She cleared her voice and said, “May I get you the usual or will we be trying something new today?”
“The usual will be fine but thank you for asking. You are so sweet.” Reggie felt like her heart was going to cartoonishly flutter, and that her face was going to turn beet red.
However, she composed herself and went to prepare the young man’s coffee. She wanted to make sure it came out extra right. Anything for this lucky guy.
Kyle was a regular at the café, having shown up a few weeks after she started working there. A Pokémon trainer himself, she couldn’t help but be pulled in by his strangely alluring life and adventures he liked talking about. Plus, his charming good looks helped make him even more appealing to the young woman. He was definitely one of the highlights of working there.
After fetching his drink and him paying, she said, “I hope you enjoy your drink and the rest of your day.”
He took a sip from his cup, gently blowing some of the steam rising off it first. Afterwards, he gave her a curious look. “I’m sure I will… but I gotta say, you are something special. Care to join me for a little stroll around town?”
Time felt like it slowed to a crawl, the whole world fading around the two of them. Reggie felt her heart thump against her chest. Did he… did he just…?
She cleared her voice and asked, trying to remain calm and collected, “What was that?”
He chuckled, taking another sip before saying again, “Did you want to join me on a stroll around town? Nothing too long. Just you and me.”
Reggie gulped. This was it and it was just so out of the blue to boot! A chance date with her big crush? She felt like her heart was going to explode right there and then.
“W-well,” she hesitantly answered, “That does sound lovely. How about after I get off?”
“I was thinking more right now since I’m going to be busy later. But, if you can’t right now, I get it. Maybe we can chat next time I get into town.”
Reggie felt the sweat on her forehead, the air leaving her body. She quickly glanced at the clock off to the side. Well, my break is in a few minutes…
“Yeah, being a trainer is great and all,” Kyle said in a casual, laid-back tone, “Meeting new people, seeing neat places, making money. The Pokémon are neat too I suppose, but it's more about the experience after a while, ya know?”
Reggie nodded. She didn’t really see becoming a Pokemon trainer the same way as he did, but she could see the appeal of some of the things he was talking about.
All in all, the date has been going well. Reggie and Kyle had taken a nice walk through the park nearby and were sitting down, eating some of the cookies from the café. Everything was going better than she could have hoped for. Yes, he seemed a little full of himself, but she just couldn’t help but be sucked in by his charm.
“What are you hoping to do when you get out there?” He asked curiously, “What are Reggie’s goals and wants out of a Pokémon journey experience?”
“Oh! Well, I suppose I just kinda want to do something… different with my life. I just wanna throw caution to the wind and get out there, travel from place to place. I just want to see what it’s like… it’s silly.”
“Nah,” Kyle stated, patting her on the shoulder and giving her a pleasant look, “Nothing wrong with that at all. Again, it’s all about the experience and finding yourself.”
She felt her cheeks warm, a smile slipping on her face. This was nice. She never really been on a date, or whatever this was called before. It felt really, really nice. She felt like she could do this for hours and hours. Just here, with him, walking and talking.
I wish this could last, I wish this could-
Something in the back of her mind suddenly clicked, and her heart began to pound. Oh crap! She tucked her hand into her pocket and snatched her phone out of there.
“Crap!” she said, catching him a little off guard, “I gotta… I gotta go right now!”
“Wait, did I say some-”
“Nojustgottagetbacktowork!Thanksforeverything!” With that jumble of words, she turned and began running back. Her break had just ended five minutes ago, and she was quite a distance away from the coffee shop. She had to run as fast as she could.
But yet, in the back of her mind, she realized that it wouldn’t really matter.
He looked Reggie straight in the eye. At a glance, he almost seemed relaxed and peaceful. But upon closer inspection, it was clear that he wasn’t. There was this bubbling anger coursing in him and in his eyes was this harsh, piercing look. It unnerved her to no end.
Reggie had gotten back to Quick Energy, twenty minutes late. The owner was waiting for her, having taken over her post in the meantime. He was all smiling, chatting with the customer at the counter. But, the second he saw her, that look came over him.
She could feel her face burning up, her body trembling. I screwed up, so, so badly, she thought. No excuses. Just plead for forgiveness.
She approached him and said first, “Mr. Byers, I am sorry for being late. I lost track of time and tried to get back as fast as possible. I should have been watching the clock more closely than I did. I am really, really sorry for this.”
Mr. Byers simply stared, saying nothing. However, his face said everything. It was getting redder and redder, arms trembling and clenching. She could feel her heartbeat pounding in her chest. It felt like an eternity before he finally made a noise by clearing his throat.
“Alright then, Ms. Carlyle,” he responded, his tone sarcastic and edgy, “A mistake. Time simply forgotten and lost track of. Happens to the best of us, I know.”
Her heart felt like it skipped several beats. ...but… but…
“But…” And there it was, everything sinking and falling as his voice rose. “...it does not excuse you being this late getting back. Five minutes? Would have been understandable. But nearly half an hour? Not a chance. Do you know how long the line got? The amount of customers that poured in that I had to deal with ALONE because YOU couldn’t get your ass back in time?”
Her heart started racing. She wanted to say something in her defense, but nothing was coming out. The anger radiating off of him had rendered her mute.
The man let out a heavy sigh, teeth grinding together. He said with a grunt, “I can’t tolerate laziness or lazy workers like yourself. It’s time for you to just go. You’re fired and I don’t want to see you on the premises after this.”
Reggie flinched. “But, Mr. Byers, I need to pay for rent soon and my bills-”
“Enough! I don’t care. You need to understand the pain and hurt you are causing to my business with your uncaringness and inability to take anything seriously.” She didn’t hear the rest of what he said until he asked if she understood him. She didn’t care. She just felt like she had got punched in the gut, like everything had fallen apart.
So, when he did get to the “you understand” portion, the power behind it heavy and threatening, she merely nodded her head and left. She never felt so low.
Dammit, she thought, gritting her teeth, I just… I just thought I have a little fun in my life while I wait for it to actually start… why did everything have to…
“Hey Reg, why the long face?”
The poor lady stopped in her tracks as she stepped out of the coffee shop. She looked to the right and right there was Caitlin, having this nasty, mean grin on her face. Her posse wasn’t around this time, but it still didn’t matter. Reggie had no time for this.
She sighed and said, “What do you want?”
The platinum blonde chuckled. “Oh, nothing really. Just seeing such an incompetent, lazy, bad drone as yourself get chewed out by Daddy. You really messed up sweetie and honestly, I’m not that surprised.”
I bet she helped make this happen, Reggie thought, rubbing her face. But it didn’t matter.
“That it? Can I go now?”
“Weeellllll, I suppose you can-”
“Hey! There you are babe! Thought you’d meet me inside?” That voice instantly snapped Reggie out of her frustration, her heart beating quickly.
Rushing up was Kyle. He looked quite ecstatic and excited. She wished she could extend the feeling or at least feel the same way on some level.
“Oh, hey, now’s not the right-” Reggie stepped forward to meet him, but he just ran past her. Her heart skipped a beat. A drop of sweat dripped down her forehead as she heard the unmistakable sound of two pairs of lips locking behind her.
She turned and looked. There he was now. His arms were around Caitlin, hand on her hip and another clenching her back. His face was against hers, giving her another kiss on the lips. Caitlin, in turn, had her arms around his back and was returning the kiss.
Reggie stared blankly. Nothing was processing or going through her mind correctly. All of it was just completely screwy and messy.
After all that staring though, Caitlin finally broke away from the kisses to look back at her. She smiled widely, brightly. “Oh hey,” she said in this sweet and innocent tone, “Oh Reg, have you met my boyfriend, Kyle? Isn’t he just the greatest?”
Reggie said nothing. She just looked at her and then at Kyle. In her mind, all she could think was, is… is this some kind of sick joke?
Kyle finally looked at her and smiled. However, while there was still his sense of charm in it, there was something else now. Something sleazy, something vile. Something just downright ugly that made her insides revolt.
“Hey, you’re… you’re… oh! You’re that girl that always gets my coffee wrong,” he said, acting all casual. “Gees, what’s with that freaky look? You get fired or something?”
Reggie wanted to ask him what was happening. She wanted to ask Caitlin what was going on. She wanted to scream loudly at the top of her lungs. She just wanted to cry.
But, Reggie knew anything like that would just hurt more. She held her tongue and tried to be as cool as she could. “Oh… umm, I should get going. Just… get going…”
“Oh, alright then,” he said simply.
Reggie turned to leave, but as she did, she heard him add, “Oh, whatever second-rate coffee shop ends up hiring you, try listening to a customer when they make an order, okay? Don’t want to lose another job again, do you?”
Reggie nodded and walked away. She could hear them snicker and laugh, her pace beginning to pick up speed. She had to keep moving. She just had to get away from that. She did not want to be near them at all. She just wanted to be as far away as she could.
Reggie stumbled to the ground, tripping over a root in her run. She didn’t get up right away. She just wanted to lay down in the dirt because she just felt like it.
She had been running for who knows how long at this point. She didn’t know where, maybe the forest outside of town? She just wanted to keep running and running.
I’m an idiot…, she thought, laying there, I’m just a complete idiot. Why? Why do I even bother? Why do I even bother trying? Everything is just a waste of time...
She spent several minutes like that, crying softly and laying there. She was sure she felt a Pokemon wander by and nudge her curiously but leave after a bit. She was fine with that. She didn’t want to be bothered right now.
Eventually, she sat up and sighed, rubbing her face. She needed to go home. She couldn’t be out here any longer. She just needed to sleep and await another crushing day tomorrow and again after that.
She shivered at the thought and sat up, leaning against the tree she tripped over. Looking around, she shivered again. She suddenly felt like more of a fool than before.
Where… where am I? How far did I run?
Not a single trace of her city or even a path could be seen around her. All was just desolate, quiet woods. She was lost.
Her heart started beating heavily, panic setting in. Crap crap crap, she thought, her hands gripping her knees tightly, I really did it now. I really frickin’ did it. Where am I?!
She panted heavily, sweat dripping down her forehead. Her fingers dug deeper into her knees, her body breaking out into shivers.
I’m screwed, she thought, her eyes welling up again, I’m so screwed. Why? Just why me? Why does this have to happen to me? What did I do to deserve any of this? Why did-
Darkness fell. Her panic fell as confusion set in. She looked up and saw a shadowy figure looming over her. She couldn’t make them out well, the few rays of sunlight that had managed to pierce through the thick trees was at their back, casting a dark shadow that blocked what they looked like. The best she could make out was that they were in some kind of large coat and hat.
Confusion turned to anger, all emotions just going wild within her. She spat, “Just go away! I just want to be alone.”
The figure did not move, but she could hear a voice chuckle. It was a guy, his tone was a weird mixture of goofy yet intimidating. She couldn’t get much of a read on it, even when he chuckled, “Oh really? Seems like an odd place ta be alone, dont’cha think?”
Reggie didn’t know how to respond, so she just said, “I don’t have any money, so if you’re here to, like, rob me or anything, you’re out of luck.”
The figure chuckled a bit heavier, but not for long. He said, “Tsk, tsk. Ya seem to misunderstand me. I’m not here to rob ya at all! In fact, you could say that I’m here to help ya.”
She sniffled, rubbing her eyes before looking down. She muttered bitterly, “You can’t help me. No one can. I just want to be left alone.”
“Nonsense. Seeing ya cry after such a terrible thing? Why, dat just moves me! I want to help you, help ya achieve the opportunity of a lifetime. Something dat’ll brighten your day and make it all better.”
The distraught woman looked up again, her heart beating heavy. She stuttered, her voice fraught with confusion, “W-wait… wha-what do you mean by that? Who are you?”
The figure knelt down, his face coming into focus and allowing her to see him. She felt her heart beat even heavier, her hands clenching her legs hard again. Face to face with her, wearing a faded fedora was a muzzle, a muzzle of a Pokemon.
Staring at her now was an Alolan Rattata that had the look and expressions of a human. He flashed a big grin and said, “Da name is Ricky. I’m a bit of a Pokemon as you may tell, but don’t ya worry, I’m nothing but a big ol’ squeaky softie.”
I’ve gone mad, Reggie thought, this simply can’t be happening.
Ricky laughed, patting her on the shoulder, “I see that look and know what you’re thinking: ‘How’s dis possible? How can I’s be dis handsum and be a Pokemanz, right?’”
“Ummm, that’s… that’s not what I-”
“Don’t ya worry!” the Rattata chuckled, taking her by the hand and helping her to her feet, “Don’t worry a thing. I don’t bite. I’m just like you, but with more adorable, handsome features! Most importantly, I can really help you out with your little problems there.”
Reggie felt a vein in her head pulse. She couldn’t take this any longer. “I just… I just… What is going on here?”
Ricky ignored her, partially at least. He said, “Well, if you must know, I saw what went down and to be frank, it sucked…”

Ricky flipped through the newspaper in his hand, carefully reading the latest events. ‘Unbeatable Champion Finally Beaten’, eh? Well, not like that’s a surprise. Always someone beddah out there… I wondah what he’s doin’-
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew against him, followed by a person nearly running into him on the bench and knocking the paper from his hands. “Sorry!Inarushrightnow, bye!”
The large rat huffed, looking past his paper and seeing the figure that nearly bonked him on the bench. It was a young woman with dull, scraggly brown hair. She kept on running, heading straight into the coffee shop across the street.
What’s her deal? he thought, annoyed, but curious. Such a bump into him like that deserved him repaying her back.
Keeping his tail out of sight and his newspaper up, he snuck over towards the shop. As he approached, a bratty-looking woman appeared, her platinum blonde hair swaying from side to side. She had a nasty grin on her face as she stood near the entrance, choosing not to go inside.
Ricky carefully avoided her attention, snuck around the corner of the building. He found an open window and leaned up near it. His big, mousey ear perked up, listening closely to what would unfold.
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
“So, I decided to follow you out here. You ran quite a bit. Was a bit tricky to keep up with ya, but I tracked you down.” Ricky explained, looking proud of his sneaking abilities.
Reggie frowned, turning from him, “Well, I don’t care. I’m going home and staying there. I need some time to myself and not be surrounded by weirdos.”
“Well dat’s just cold,” tsked Ricky, shaking his head, “And all I wanted to do was help.”
Reggie stopped. She let out an exhausted sigh, mumbling, “And HOW would you help me out? Use your weird Pokemon abilities?”
“Oh, something far better than dat,” he chuckled, “I would like to give you a chance to change your life for the better. A chance to get your revenge on the people who wronged you.”
Reggie stopped in her tracks. Revenge. That word played in her head repeatedly.
Even though she could not see it, Reggie could sense a big grin had formed on the Rat Pokemon’s face, a really big one. She heard a chuckle, followed by, “Revenge. Does dat appeal to you? I’m sure it does! I mean, it would for me if I had gone through dat!”
Reggie trembled, biting down on her lip. Her hands clenched tightly. She cleared her throat and looked over her shoulder at him, “...what… what kind of revenge?”
“Just a little something dat would make them eat outta your hands,” the Alolan Rattata remarked casually, “No more makin’ fun of you. No more pain or mockery. Just complete and uddah respect from dem. Frankly, I think you’d like da results.”
Sweat formed upon Reggie’s head, her eyes clenching shut. “God, you are such a drone that I don’t think this espresso will help me through this.” “You’re that girl that always gets my coffee wrong.” “Just seeing such an incompetent, lazy, bad drone as yourself get chewed out by daddy.” “…try listening to a customer when they make an order, okay?”
She trembled angrily, her teeth gritting. This… this can’t be good, but… but… this needs to happen.
Reggie took a deep breath and turned around. She was worried, nervous, but anxious and angry. She said slowly, “Okay… I accept.”
Ricky stroked his chin and smirked. He leaned in and asked, “Oh? What are you accepting now?”
She could feel her cheeks burning with rage. “I’ll accept your damn help! I want revenge and whatever comes with it! Just… I just want them to never bother me again! … just without them dying or anything like that. That would be bad.”
“Of course!” Ricky laughed, “I wouldn’t offer such a dark thing as dat. I got something much better in mind. It’s a little gift, just for you.”
The large Rat ‘mon reached into his jacket’s inner sleeve, rummaging around in it and licking his chops. “Should be… not dat… or dat… OH! Here we are~”
He yanked hard, and the trench coat opened up as he pulled his item out. In his hand, a small black, rubbery ball with the letter, “R”, embedded in red. Upon his chest appeared to be a thick, rubbery, black turtleneck with the same “R” on it. The letter sent a shiver down her spine, a feeling of familiarity of what it was striking her.
Reggie stepped back, but Ricky merely leaned back and threw. She flinched, preparing to be struck by the odd object, but instead was taken aback by it being tossed into the air. The large ball of rubber flew high above them, almost like when a trainer tossed a Pokeball out.
But just as she was about to relax and ponder the bizarre move, the ball suddenly exploded. She squeaked in shock as chunks of rather gooey rubber came falling from the sky. She covered her eyes, bracing for impact.
She felt pieces strike her. The substance splattered upon her shirt and pants, while some of it got into her messy brown hair. The goop felt rather warm and sticky, reeking of burnt tire rubber for a moment. But thankfully, that seemed to be all.
She lowered her hands and looked around her, seeing the rest of the sticky tar had fallen all around her. Her heart was pounding, sweat dripping down her forehead. She looked from the gunk to the large anthro, asking, “What the hell was that?! And what’s with that symbol… isn’t… isn’t that the-”
Ricky grinned and pointed downward, ignoring her questions. Reggie looked in that direction and felt her heart race even harder. The black gunk was wobbling and shaking around her like it was on a hot pan. As it bubbled, it began to slither its way up to her and onto her legs, wrapping around her feet.
She tried to move, but she found herself tumbling to the ground with a soft thud as the goo spun itself around her limbs. “S-s-stop!!” she shouted, “Make it stop!”
She kicked her legs as hard as she could, but it wouldn’t do much good at all. The goop was incredibly thick and straining, like trying to kick through tar if anything. It felt like it was sapping all the strength out of her.
Reggie moaned and yelled for somebody to help. But given how far out she was, what was the chance of a hero?
Ricky merely walked up and looked down on her with a pleasant, but devious smile. “Oh poor you,” he spoke. His tone was calm, collected, and relaxing oddly. “It will be over soon enough. Just relax. This is all part of the process.”
“But-but-but-but!”
Ricky grinned. “You want your revenge, right? Dis will help you get dat. Just let it roll over ya. Focus on the pain, the anger, and humiliation. You want revenge, right?”
Reggie’s heart beat even heavier, her body trembling. She wasn’t sure if the situation was making her blood boil or if the goo, slowly crawling onto her torso now, was doing it. However, her anger was raging, and it was focused only on the two that wronged her.
She gulped and mumbled, “Yes… yes… I want revenge.”
Ricky chuckled sweetly, “Den let it wash over you sweetheart. It’ll be over soon enough.”
Reggie nodded and relaxed. She closed her eyes and let whatever happened next happen. Sensing no more turmoil or fighting, the goop quickly spread over the rest of her form in an instant. It swallowed her chest, her arms, and then at last, her entire head, sucking up all her hair. All senses were suddenly cut off from her, and the world faded out.
In the back of her mind, there was just a little bit of worry and concern for what would happen. But that thought, along with the rest of her mind, faded out.
Ricky looked down at the vague, rubbery blob shaped as a woman before him. There was no movement, no wiggling or such. Just stillness.
He stroked his chin, frowning a little and wondering what the holdup was. But then, the form wobbled and shook. He smiled and shook his head. Gotta be more patient. Good dings always come to those who wait’~
The rubbery goop stretched out a few inches, adding some extra height for the figure. The waistline pushed inward, the stomach area flattening fully. The thighs thickened ever so gently while the bust expanded, adding on at least an extra cup size or so. The figure looked far more womanly and voluptuous than they once were.
The back of her head bubbled and shook. BWOSH!!! The rubbery substance burst forth, long, coiling extensions spread and stretched all around the shapeless head. Their form and shape took on the form of beautifully coiffed locks of hair that cascaded past her shoulders and curling at the tips. The shiny black locks then shivered, and different colors began filling the formerly black canvas, the long locks taking on hues of crimson red and bright mauve.
The black blob’s featureless face began to bubbling now, this time in the very front. At first, it was almost too discrete to notice but the beginnings of a face began to take shape along with a small nub at the top of the forehead, just below the rubbery mane.
FWOMP! Both spots erupted like a volcano. The nub shot out into a long, pointed unicorn horn, a soft spiral rolling down from the tip to the base. Everything else below pushed out into a full, equine muzzle, the entire shape of the head more resembling that of a Rapidash than a human. Even cute equine ears popped out the sides of the head, peeking through the colorful mane.
“NEEEEEEIIIIIIIIGH!” cried ‘Reggie’, unleashing a mighty horse whiny, her eyes opening wide. Everything was coming into focus now for her, but yet, her mind was a blur.
Ricky said pleasantly, “Looking good so far, but there’s still plenty of work to be done. Just lean back and don’t think about anything for the moment. It’ll all come to you soon.”
The rubber creature that had once been Reggie said nothing, merely raising their hands up for a closer look. They were still black, roundish blobs, but only briefly. They quickly turned white and shrunk, reforming into feminine hands with long red fingernails. Around the wrists, two shiny, light violet puffs burst out of them, stretching up and away from her body almost like antennas.
The same thing happened with her feet to some degree. The black gunk morphed into thick, deep violet hooves that fit her dainty, lady legs well. Around the ankles, more shiny puffs came out, this time stretching away towards the back of her.
The whole time it was occurring, the black rubber appeared to be reacting strangely. A thin, latex-like layer was forming over the top of the body, cutting and shrinking in certain ways. It stretched down to her ankles, opening along the sides, while around the chest, the layer lowered to reveal a pale white collarbone and cleavage. A red R appeared in the direct center, a hole opening up to reveal the navel. It looked like a form-fitting, elegant dress.
Beneath the dress, the rest of her form was quickly turning to a glossy porcelain white as well. Nothing was being left in black other than the new dress. However, there wasn’t much color otherwise, leaving her a mostly monotonous shade except for the tuffs and fingernails.
But such things would not last long. Ricky tilted his head towards the side, looking a bit better at the exposed leg unveiled by her dress. Along her outer right thigh, big, bolded letters, numbers, and symbols appeared on it. It simply read: R31N@.
The rubber equine shivered, a finger twitched ever so gently. She rose a hand up again, this time bringing it to her new muzzle. She stroked her longer face. The greyish white brightened to a lighter shade, a blush crossing her cheeks before disappearing. Her rubbery skin… felt good. All of her felt good.
Color began to bloom across her face shortly after. Upon the outline of her lips, they turned to a bright red. Her horn shook, deep indigo rising from the base and flowing all the way to the very tip. From the base of what appeared to be her mane, bright red and bright violet rose and flowed all the way down the tip ends as well.
It seemed like her whole body was a little brighter, a little more colorful now. But she paid no attention to that, her mind still swirling and spinning like mad. She blinked once. Their black shade turned purple in the center for irises. She blinked again, snow white came to them, now representing her sclera.
She blinked again and this time, her eyes fell upon Ricky. The big Alolan Rattata grinned madly and got down on one knee. Confused, and feeling a bit edgy, the first feeling in a while to cross her, the newest Rubber Rocket member looked down at the large Rattata kneeling before her.
Ricky took her hand and planted a gentle kiss onto it. He cooed gently, “Welcome to Team Rubber Rocket, my Lady Reina.”
She stared at him, her heart thumping heavily. Everything… everything felt so right now.
“Oh my sweet, darling Kyle,” Caitlin cooed, stroking the chin of her boyfriend, “I hope you didn’t have to do anything too disgusting. That girl was simply repulsive.”
The young man chuckled, kissing her and answering, “Of course not. My lips are only for someone as sweet as you.”
Caitlin swooned and leaned into him happily. Time had passed and everything had gone just so perfectly well. Caitlin got rid of that nasty eyesight clogging up her favorite café and now, she got to enjoy a great time together with her boy toy.
The two kissed gently and hugged. Kyle whispered into her eye, “So, how about we ditch this café and go somewhere a little more private.”
“Ooooh, does my handsome, tough trainer need more ‘personal’ time before he goes away again on his journey?” Caitlin giggled. “Because if you need it, I’m more than ready to help.” She loved the guy. Such a wonderful trainer, so strong and courageous facing the dangerous little creatures out in the wild and getting all that fame. Hopefully, she could lean into that and finally leave this small town for grander sights.
The bells above the door chimed as it swung open violently, banging against the wall as it did. The two flinched and looked towards the entrance. In walked two shocking, stunning, anthro figures.
The first was a large, roundish Alolan Rattata from the looks of it. He wore a black cap and black sweater, both emblazoned with a red “R” in the center. Beside him, or appearing leading the way, was an elegant, female figure shaped as a Galarian Rapidash. She wore a striking black dress, the legs exposed on the sides. Much like him, her dress had a “R” on it as well. The two of them had this odd sheen to them, as if they were made entirely from rubber.
The sight was both bizarre and worrying. The room lit up with worried mumblings and disconcerted squeaks. The two rubbery beings gave it no mind as they surveyed the area.
‘What are they?’ Caitlin asked Kyle, sinking her seat while leaning up against him tightly. She could feel her heart racing, sweat dripping down her forehead.
‘I don’t know,’ he answered in the same, whisper tone, ‘Just don’t make eye contact… every-everything will be o-’
“Excuse me! What are you doing here?! You need to leave right now!” Caitlin looked to the left. Her father had crossed from behind the counter and stormed over to the two. He looked frightened but determined.
No, what are you doing, you idiot?! Don’t get near them! she thought panicky, you don’t know what they’ll do! She had no idea what they would do either. However, given their shape and form, she knew the odd, alien beings could only mean trouble.
The Galarian Rapidash woman saw him coming and chuckled, her voice airy but mature and powerful. He stepped in front of her, and she gently raised her hand to his chin. She looked deeply into his eyes, and he froze on the spot. The room went silent as the woman cooed, “Everything is fine. Just go home. No need to worry about little old us.”
From almost any angle, it appeared as if she was merely just talking to him. But from the couple’s view, they could see something else. They could see the Rapidash’s eyes glow this otherworldly purple and that her grasp on his face was tight and hard.
And just like that, she let him go and Caitlin’s dad nodded, leaving without another word. He didn’t look at anybody, not even his own daughter as he left. It was like he was in a haze.
The second he left, there was a roaring panic. The other four people in the building screamed and charged for the exit. However, the two rubbery beings merely smiled and blocked them off, staring them down and causing them to freeze up as well. We got to go now, Caitlin thought, who knows what they’ll do to us!
She looked to Kyle. He was frozen in place, but from fright. She let out an exhausted sigh and gripped his hand. She yanked him towards the entrance all on her own. Must she do everything around here?
Thankfully, he did not put up much resistance, quickly moving along with their rushing. They were almost towards the front door, just about the last people out. But, a few steps from it, they ran into something soft and rubbery, bouncing back and landing on their bums.
“Boing!” the chubby Rattata joked, patting his belly, “You two gotta watch where ya goin’. You never knows who ya goin’ run inta if you’re not careful!”
Caitlin and Kyle froze, looking up in terror. The two rubbery mons were blocking their only way out now, everyone else having fled already. They were stuck.
The Rattata looked to the Rapidash and cheekily said, “I believe these are the ones you were looking for, Lady Reina.”
Reina looked at the two closely. She looked deep in thought, like she wasn’t fully sure what she was looking at. However, she eventually smirked and walked over to them, saying, “Yes. Yes, I remember these two. Thank you, Ricky.”
Caitlin and Kyle shivered. She knows us? Who is she?! Caitlin thought, what does she want from-
Kyle squeaked, his smooth, charming voice a babyish whine and whimper, “D-d-d-don’t hurt me! Just let me go! I promise I won’t talk or do anything! I can pay anything too if it helps.”
Caitlin shot him a look, a pinch of anger rising in her. Well thanks for standing for me and not throwing me to the wolves there.
Reina grinned, shaking her head. “Oh Kyle,” she cooed, “So handsome, so charming… and yet, so much ugly within your soul and being. Perhaps they need a nice, big overhaul. Something to make you much more… pleasing to the eye.”
She held out her hand to Ricky, who happily handed something from his sweater pocket. It was a small, baseball-size rubber ball with a “R” emblazoned on it. She squeezed it gently and with one big swoop, she slammed the ball into Kyle’s face.
The young man flinched and fell onto his back. The ball splattered across his face like a cartoony pie. However, it was much more sinister than that. The rubbery gunk slowly wrapped itself over his face, before spreading to the rest of his head. His body spasmed and shook, his hands gripping at the goo in a desperate attempt to pull it off.
But it was no use. The substance would not budge, even spreading onto his fingers and neck then. Eventually, his shaking and jolting stopped. His body went limp and he laid there beside Caitlin, motionless.
Her eyes felt like they were going to bug out of her head, her heart racing a mile a second. Sweat was pouring over her forehead as she stuttered, “K-K-Kyle? A-ar-are you o-okay? ...oh my god, he’s dead…”
Reina snorted and laughed, Ricky joining in. She cooed, stroking Caitlin’s face now. She looked over the man’s body, slowly being coated in the rubber, and said, “Oh, he’ll be fine. In fact, he’ll be better than fine in a bit. He’s just being prepared for his new life.”
Caitlin shivered, looking at Reina. “Wh-who are you? Why are you doing this to us?”
The Galarian Rapidash’s smile turned wicked. She leaned in, her muzzle going past Caitlin’s head and up to her ear. She whispered simply, “Don’t you recognize me? Am I that different? Tsk, Caitlin, you know that really hurts me, deeply. Don’t you recognize… what was it now? Oh! Don’t you recognize an Incompetent, Lazy, Bad Drone when you see one?”
Caitlin’s blood went cold. The world felt like it stopped. Everything else faded out except for her and Reina. She gulped, the terrible realization washing over her. “Reg-Reggie?”
The anthro Pokemon woman calmly, but icily replied, “Not anymore. Oh, and by the way, you brought this on yourself.”
Panic began to set in again. Caitlin’s stuttering grew fast. “I’m-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it! It-It-It wasn’t right and r-r-r-really, it was a stupid thing to do. Kyle came up with most of it and you know Kyle, he’s a manipulative jackass that only cares about himself, am I right?”
The Galarian Rapidash said nothing, slowly backing away from her and revealing another black, rubber ball in her grasp. She grinned and began to lift it up. Caitlin stammered on, “I’m sorry, I’m really, really, really sorry! I’ll do anything! You want to beat me? You want to take all my money? You want your old job back! Anything! I promise I will do whatever you want, just please… not this!”
“Oh, but Caitlin, you’ll be doing everything I want from now on.” With a hearty, nasty laugh, she swung her arm and threw the rubber ball as fast as she could.
The young woman screamed as loud as she could, watching the ball fly closer and closer to her. And then…
...all went black.
The front doors opened up and out strolled Reina and Ricky. Reina had her head held up high, her face beaming with joy and pride. Ricky merely looked at her with awe, saying, “Well, Lady Reina, I take it dat you’re feeling much better.”
“Quite I am, Ricky,” she spoke, “That felt incredibly liberating and wonderful. I simply must do that again in the future.”
“Well, I’ms sure you can if ya remember anyone else dat wronged ya,” Ricky answered with a nod. Dough, dat’s probably not gonna happen much given how once you join, you lose your old self in the process.
Ricky really liked the recruit he pulled in here. Arriving in the Galar region had been easy but starting up a new branch of the Rubber Rockets wasn’t. Finding the right people while remaining incognito was a lot trickier than expected. He was so lucky to find someone as great as Reina and with her on his side, things should start going much more smoothly from now on.
“Oh yes!” Reina remarked with a smile. She turned towards the door and clapped her hands, “Come along, my servants. The base awaits!”
At that moment, a pair of rubber Indeedees hurried out. There was one female and one male, both wearing matching maid and butler outfits. On the center of their servant attire was a red “R”, symbolizing who they were.
The female one curtsied and declared, “CeCe, at your service, ma’am. Always a pleasure to serve the great Lady Reina.”
The male one bowed and proudly stated, “Kai, also here, ma’lady. Always ready to tend to your every desire, Lady Reina.”
The Galarian Rapidash applauded, rubbing their heads gently. “Oh, aren’t you two sweet, and so much better than what you once were. I must say, you two are perfection now, just the perfect servants for someone as wondrous and lovely as me.”
The two Indeedees giggled and nodded, smiling brightly and looking at her with adoring eyes. In the back of Ricky’s mind, a hint of jealousy came to him. Oh, how he wished he had some loyal servants as well. Maybe he should make some in the future?
Regardless, he addressed Reina and asked, “So, are ya ready for your new life?”
“Not like the old one was any good… I think,” she remarked, “Honestly, I could hardly care less about the past. The future with my new servants, my new allies, and my new allegiance to the glorious Team Rubber Rocket is all that matters. It is simply what is right.”
“That’s what I like to hear,” Ricky chuckled, “Now, let’s ditch dis joint and head back to ba-”
“Mr. Ricky!” CeCe spoke up, “I almost forgot! What are we to do with those silly humans inside?” Ricky looked back in through the glass doors, seeing the dark outlines of the people standing there.
Geeze, in all the excitement I almost forgot! Good thing Lady Reina’s Hypnotic Charm is so powerful, he thought, stroking his chin. He smiled and said, “Wells, can’t just leave potential recruits just standin’ around, right? I’ll be right back after I do some more initiatin’.”
The large Alolan Rattata laughed to himself, pulling out another rubber ball from his pocket. Things had turned out amazing. An amazing new catch with Lady Reina and a bunch of goons he could use to further his team’s goals. What wasn’t to like?
The era of Team Rubber Rocket in Galar would soon rise.

Enjoy.
~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
THE END?
