“Talk about a strange night,…

After a long day on the island I was finishing up a nice bath in the hot springs,… feeling a bit refreshed, thanks to my flower,… but still tired, and my stomach was starting to grumble. As I was nearly finished getting dressed,… and thinking about heading back to the southern shore to see what the Islanders had caught for evening meal,… a strange light surrounded me. I reached for my spear, but before I could grab it it was gone,… or rather I was gone,… the light enveloping me as I could feel things changing around me. The light faded, but was replaced by other bright lights, coming from above, and thunderous sounds from all around,… what sounded like yelling and cheering,… the heat of the hot springs was gone, replaced by,… well, it was colder, but not exactly cold,… and then I felt the familiar wet goopiness of mud rising up over my knees.

My eyes adjusted after a few moments and I found myself in some strange,… cage it seemed,… outside of which were numerous people and creatures looking on, cheering and shouting,… wait, are those the Boneheads,… no, it couldn’t be,…. and a strange wolfman seemed to be leading the cheering. A quick look down showed I was knee deep in some sort of mud,… of course, I did just finish a bath afterall,… I was settling in deeper, but as it crept up my thighs I felt a bottom to it,… I could rarely say that of mud pits on my island. As I took this all in I realized I was not alone inside this mud-filled cage, there was another, a woman with white hair, wearing a golden,…. Wait,… oh no,… her eyes locked with mine, and narrowed to a glare,… yeah, it was her,…

Queen La, she called herself,… a jungle witch that I’ve crossed paths with before,… she was a fearsome opponent,… and it looks like she remembers me,… lovely,….

Before I knew what was happening she was leaping at me, and a moment later we were grappling and straining against each other,… wait,… that’s what they are cheering,… ‘Fight’… they want us to fight, is that the whole point of this? Ugh,… well, La seems willing to fight,… and I’m no stranger to fighting in mud,…

I’m not sure how long this has gone of for,… La is getting angrier,… the crowd around us seems to be enjoying this,… I will need to have a word with that wolfman when this is over, because I am not enjoying this,…. I am tired, I am hungry, I am covered in mud upto my waist,… I,… Have,… Had,…

… 'ENOUGH!!!’ ”

Another simply astounding picture from the Tuesday Chibi Stream of  Shonuff44 of my valiant Ember battling against the villainous Queen La,… in an underground Mud Wrestling match beneath the Brickhouse Bar.

Of all the ready-made chibi backgrounds that Shonuff has created for use in his Tuesday streams this one naturally caught my attention the most,… I was even fortunate enough to get a few characters in the background of it,… yeah, those are the Boneheads and The Wraith lurking back there, enjoying the fight and acouple of beers it seems. There was no doubt I had to get Ember into the ring, but the question remained of her opponent and the poses. Queen La seemed a good jungle villain for Ember to go up against in such a fight, and the pose, well,… Sho’s take on that I think turned out spectacularly. Once again I am blown away by how fierce Ember looks, even in chibi form,… such a great pose and expression, again that fierce little fang tooth showing, not to mention the lovely mud coating on her and her opponent. And poor La, I almost feel sorry for her, that hit from Ember certainly looks like it must have hurt,… with her gritted teeth, closed eye and her one open and clearly bewildered looking eye,… as it sends the jungle witch reeling, and sailing back to what will likely end in a very muddy Splut. Such a fierce picture, with a great sense of motion,… from the flowing of their hair, to the splashing of mud beneath them, to the trail of muck showing La’s trajectory. And yes, that is Mud on Queen La’s face and trailing from it, just to be clear. I’d been toying with the idea of making Queen La one of Ember’s villains as well, and this piece seems a fitting introduction,… and all the while 4 of Ember’s other villains watch this muddy fight from the sidelines. A simply marvelous and fun image that I am so very happy with.
