It actually based on a real photo - these messages was on the walls of the bad workers in Union. I know when Union collapsed many people was happy. But now many people become nostalgic about socialism. Always remember a thing about socialism: When you dont post much on the FA for a long time you must be claimed and denouncieted. So following a trend I really apologize for not posting much lately. Please distribute this message all over the place coz I really was out for some time. Shame on me :C

I myself had been one of the unironic proponents of communism. Or at least I liked the basic idea. After talking to a few people it became clear to me. That it was a bad idea. In a planned economy, the farmer has to irrigate the field. Even though it's starting to rain. In Prague I saw a monument of socialism that reminds me of the thesis of the oppressors vs. the oppressed that I learned about socialism in my research. It shows a person who at the very top is only his foot and bit by bit he becomes complete again. The deeper he goes. The oppressed person is freed from the oppressor or frees himself from his oppression.
The basic idea was simple and included many things that was good for the simple people. But system chased for it's own development and somehow interest of simple people became the last thing government was taking care for. (Like a Trabant was a "FAMILY CAR" so as VAZ) Many decisions was made wrong and the consequences is really bad. But still that country was good in many things. For example USSR was multicultural long before US due multi ethnic territory, early Union gave rights to woman and supported feminism - woman was equal fighters for "all the good against all the bad" But the best of all - everyone get a job! And a place to live with it. The main problem was - the idea is contained flaws in its core why this system wouldn't work on a practice. We chased numbers instead of a results.
At what price? In Soviet times, there are about 100 million dead. And many starved to the miserably planned economy. But if you leave that out. In this utopia, everyone will be equal. There will be no recognition of achievements. A scientist will get the same salary as a farmer. There's little incentive to study. In capitalism, on the other hand, the more you work hard, the better your job and salary will be. Progress is slower. There is no incentive to develop something new if you don't get anything. Resp. Same as everyone else. And you talk about the Trabants. In the GDR alone you had to wait years for your own Trabant. The quality standards are inferior and equal. Because it doesn't matter if someone else's product is better. There was no difference. On the other hand you lose the individual that makes you what you are. And these states are big surveillance states. To keep order. you have to go more authoritarian and give control to the state.
Which my world view is not imaginable. I rather follow the school of thought of libertarianism or libertarianism/minarchism. Where the individual is the focus.
