Now, this is something I've wanted for a long, long, long time.
When I was a little kid, I used to adore the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics, and reading terrible Sonic the Hedgehog fanfiction. I still do, honestly, even if a lot of the Penders run doesn't really hold up. And, of course, Princess Sally was one of my favorite characters, and -- if I'm being completely honest with you all -- a childhood crush. More and more, I've come to think that Princess Sally must have been a subconscious inspiration for Valcione as I wrote her. Gosh, I hope she comes back some day...
It felt really great, then, to finally commission the wonderful Terra to draw Valcione in the Mobian style, and I could not be more overjoyed at how she turned out! Those eyes, those lashes, that smile... Getting this commission felt a bit like coming home, to the roots of what initially inspired me not only in Furry, but in creative writing in general. It means so much to me. ;.;
I don't think this is going to be a "default" look for my characters any time soon, but I'm definitely going to get more like this commissioned someday. Y'all haven't seen the last of Valcione the Skunk. ^.^
