A twin seat X-Wing derived starfighter designed to utilize its topside twin blaster cannon turret to target threats to its escorts, the escort fighter began life as little more than a heavily modified T-65E X-Wing but by the end the final product was further streamlined into the T-69 K-Wing Escort Fighter due to the ability to raise it's upper set of S-Foils was utterly removed to allow for its turreted blasters to have an unobstructed 360 degree firing arcs. The K-Wing would remain in service for a decent period of time before being phased out after the formal end of the First Galactic Civil War and when the threat of unescorted bombers being wiped out was removed by the eventual replacement of the Y-Wings by the Koensayr K-Wing Bomber, the formal successor to Incom's T-69 K-Wing. Despite being formally phased out from the military arm of its original users, the T-69 would continue to function as an Escort Fighter in the lawless regions of the Outer Rim and by a select number members of the New Jedi Order. During the Yuzhan Vong Invasion, the T-69's would be brought back into the forefront of battle once more and many would feature the addition of the new K-Class Underslung Weapons Attachment.
