general tool and die work, custom bits for guns, cutting down putting splines in car axles, rebuilding damn near anything mechanical.
the equpiment when done, will let me cut gears, splines key-ways, flats, slots, etc.
the lathe lets me make anything round, I have carbide tooling for both so can cut some pretty dam hard materials.
