Some petrification art for a gryphon named  frysco.
Seems he fell a victim of a rare example of Cryptobotany - The infamous Petrifying Ivy. Less known (probably because of having worse PR agents) then it's more popular cousin , poison ivy, this wonder of the flora kingdome has developed a unique chemical property. Instead of causing an itching rash, it releases a substance, that simply petrifies all living tissue with which it comes in contact. Adding that to it's "sort-of" consciousness and the ability of "instant gowth", in truly makes it a rare (and sometimes last) sighting. So if You ever stumble upon a garden of statues covered in ivy in the middle of nowhere, You can either run away as fast as You can, or just find yourself a comfortable position.
Doing this one did take some time. The two most difficult tasks was doing the stone and the feather texture, but i managed to do it, with satisfying effects. Anyway i think it came out pretty well. I even did a simple background :3.
