Cw: Rainbow Bridge/Animal Death
Unfortunately, my auntie's German Shepherd, who I've known since I was little and dog sat for over the summer, has finally crossed the rainbow bridge. This is how I liked to hug her... I'm gunna miss her so much...
I loved playing fetch with you. And waking up to your big round nose in the morning. And calming your sister down when she barked at the mail man, with you standing behind her like "What's that idiot doing?". And letting you share a few little pieces of popcorn with me. And just laying down on the floor with you and burying my face in your fluff.
But we had to do what was best for you. You were going blind, and deaf, and your legs finally gave out. It would have been so cruel to ask you to stay with us any longer than the 14 years you already shared with us. What a wonderful 14 years it was. I hope whoever it is on the other side of that rainbow bridge had an orange bumper toy for you. I know it was your favorite. Even if your idea of fetch was holding the bumper in your mouth and chasing your sister around the yard. I'll keep Heidi safe for you until she's ready to join you. Arlene and Skip, too. Your mom and dad always gave me updates as soon as I saw them. I hope you could still feel my last hug, you were always so sweet and gentle and sometimes I swear you hugged me back.
I love you Sadie...
