Awesome sprite is awesome! I think it could animate well. Maybe if you used layers to draw new frames over top, you might be able to draw good anims. Or you could cut it into parts and just use those. I personally like making a construction set and building each frame.

Hmm, maybe it feels like a weird pose because it looks likes he's stretching out of a sitting position?

The anatomy on this is so pleasing, I feel like if he lowered himself back down, that he'd look all plump like bunnies do on the haunches, haha. And the arms are properly carried for a feral! :D

I do feel like his outfit needs something more though.
I'd ditch the scarf in favor of more fighter like things, such as:

straps
a belt
wrapping on feet or hands


I like the bandanna, but the top seems mushy, and I"m not sure how it is even tied on.

Anatomy-wise I like to use this style of anthropomorphizing (gasp, that's a long word) more than the seemingly popular method of having more human anatomy; Glad you like it. That's not to say I don't enjoy watching such art, it's just not how I draw.

As for his outfit, I agree that it's a bit lacking. He could use something on his body like the things you suggested. A scarf is really unpractical in a fight, and the bandanna would fall off if he moved his head, but I don't always aim for that kind of realism, so it works for me. :D I'll consider your suggestions the next time I draw him, though.
