Well if the worst outcome isn't Granny going to kill him, but instead drop him off, he could go after Speedy next, be adopted by Porky (which was a thing for a while), or eventually have a son and get into some embarrassing situations like getting beaten up by a baby kangaroo that he mistakes for a giant mouse.
That's true.
