got a bit of a nomenclature issue with this one [adopted]
i have, as mentionned in the title, a little nomenclature issue with the 'types of magic' names as in most recent forms of media, (literature or not) a magic centered around something, whether it'd be a natural element or a concept is followed by the word 'mancy', such as geomancy, technomancy etc.
the issue with that being that the latin or greek root actually makes it describe the 'divination through said element or concept' and nothing more.
i can't seem to find the correct latin or greek root for a magic that makes one master/weave/manipulate an element or concept.
anyone has an idea ?

I lost my train of thought, and mixed up my comments. Basically I was hoping if it is possible to have them both and structure it as a story. It's my writer side poking through.
If I have to pick only one, I will do so.
