So started to name things. Firstly no much is readable in planed dimensions, so this is the original size of it. Now things can be seen. Naming places also turned out to be harder than I anticipated. I been doing this all weekend when I had the time and it nowhere near done. The red dots represent major cities but none got a name so far. Judging how troublesome is to name the regions I have a feeling I never get around to name everything just the most important places.
This continent is mostly under the rule of the Empire. Lore side is not surprising considering that the whole thing started from the "Red Mountain" region. The area was a hotbed for industry rich in minerals like steel, (probably the rust gave the "red" name to the mountains) and the surrounding land full of coal. All it needed is just an expansionist regime bent on conquering the rest of the lands. Time to imagine cities covered in smog there.

Thanks. The ocean is just as big of a chunk of this planet than the land, was a good reason to do it. More so since this is an anthro setting and we have aquatic creatures here. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/7451628/
looks great man! Mad props for putting things on watersources like the rivers and on the ocean (you wouldn't believe how often I see this not taken into account)! Love seeing the settlements put into place! I actually quite like naming things in my fantasy world. Here's a few tips if you're struggling;
1; Cities are usually are named by something nearby (which is usually a noteworthy natural object, hills, rivers, resources, forests, shoreline etc etc) or something relating to the culture of the place, its history (the site of a noteworthy battle, where a noteworthy invention came from, the site of an ancient temple etc etc)
2; When a foreign power takes over another place the name might either be kept due to the language shifting the meaning might get lost, or the invaders might change the name to something that sounds familiar in the invaders' tongue.
3; As languages changes overtime the original name might be corrupted or lose its meaning. A place might still be called "Oilshelf hill" even if the resource has dried up and it's presently known for its goldsmiths. Alternatively due to dialectal shifts the name might shift into something like "Oliefhe".
4; Idealistic people tends to name things after something they value. IRL the US state Virginia comes from the word "Virgin" which was a celebration for the English Queen's chastity. Arrogant people (often dictators) similarly tends to name things after themselves such as St.Petersburg which has changed names many times according to which arrogant prick sat at the helm of state at the time.
If you want to throw around ideas you know I'm open for it! I might have aksed before but have you considered dropping your lore into a repository/wiki like WorldAnvil?

You got some nice points together here. Really helpful. Tough I'm still at the "great leader" part with story development so no real names there yet too. Just a grand basic idea that would need much much refinement to shape into a proper story. What is the map-making a part of.
Well, that world anvil would need some studying from my part before dropping things into it. I'm kinda lacking the time for that.
