You bet your ass I'm getting this one printed! I'd say the only two things which would make this photo better are if there were more leaves on the trees (such as this photo of him I took over a year ago) or if it was more overcast that day so I could get a more even exposure (such as my last photo of him). The last tiem I photographed Flint standing on a rock, he was a bit further back on the rock so all of his feet were missing from the shot. Because of this, it looked off. I'm so glad I got the front paws this time. Hopefully, the next time I photograph him on the rock, it will be a bit cloudy. Regardless, I love this shot and can't wait to hang it up on my wall. :3

Yeah, my dad's a hobby photographer too, joined the local club and enters contests and all so we have quite a few pictures on the walls throughout the house as well.
I do wonder, how did you make the milkyway one? I'm gessing long exposure during sunrise? Also, the bobcat one is gorgeous, it's kind of a shame the log in the foreground is so blurry though. Though I do guess it puts the focus on the cat

Yeah, I would have liked the log to be in focus as well, but that photo already had a lot of recovery done to it. If I had shot it at F/6.3 or F/7.1, I doubt I would have to increase the ISO beyond what would probably be acceptable. Although, if I had the time, I probably would have tried. You just don't get the control you want with animals, so sometimes you have to deal with what you've got. :/
For the Milky way, what you are seeing at the horizon isn't the sunset/sunrise. That photo was taken at Mount Mitchell, and if you look southwest of the mountain, you will notice a city (Ashville) ~30 miles away. The bright glow edging its way into the core of the Milky Way is light pollution. Something which took me 3 hours to get away from. There are things I would like to do better next time (such as using a tracking mount), but for my first Milky Way photo, I'm glad of how it turned out. :3
