So, this dormouse, pine marten, and stoat walk into the desert... and then a massive and convoluted story forms around them and six other characters who died (well, five died, one just left) during the course of said story.

Here are the winners of RedVenture 5, a survivor-style writing contest set in Brian Jacques' Redwall universe. It's rather amusing that the winning characters are: a) all female; and b) the three most unlikeable characters in the contest.

Bellona, the dormouse, is a cold-hearted SOB who murdered another contestant and didn't bat an eye. Eliza, the pine marten, has all the charm of a Simon Cowell-wannabe. And Revel, the stoat, roasts and eats sentient beings like she's Dr. Hannibal's long-lost daughter from an alternate dimension.

Still, props to the contestants (all nine of them) for creating an interesting and compelling story. Props as well to my friend Lord Zheep for doing the background and text for this piece. I'm wretched at backgrounds and he's... well, he's not, so I asked him to do a collab and he kindly agreed.
