This gem comes from an alleyway in Beppu Japan on Kyūshū and was taken in 2006. Cute little PSAs like this abound in Japan, whether they are admonishing you for general rudeness on trains, not picking up after your adorable sheeb that just dropped a giant steaming load outside the temple, walking while looking at your phone, standing on the wrong side of an escalator-- or, as in this case, pissing in public-- you are never far from being reminded how to be a good citizen through the use of amusing imagery and polite phrasing.

These signs are actually a bit of an obsession for me. I'd actually pay good money for this sign if it were to appear in someone's shop. They have such charm and design to them that I would totally hang these up around my home. Yeah, I'm weird that way among many others.

I can't help liking the dog's disapproving glare as though what he's witnessing is way over the line even for the greatest of urban whizzers, who now has to go and mark that pole again. Bastard!

Poor translation yields something like: "Let's stop standing piss". I'm sure it's more eloquent than that. The bottom seems to be something akin to "Message from the City Council". Nothing ruins commerce like everyone rampantly peeing everywhere. x3
