TK was not always the muscular hunk he is today. Everyone has to start from somewhere, sometime. For TK, that was high school. He was a twig. Underweight. He could eat at a buffet, fill himself up and not gain any weight from it. Just a crazy high metabolism. Frustrated by this, and assuming his lack of muscle was why girls wouldn't talk to him, he decided to start working out at the high school gym.
Aaaaaaaaaaand.... nothing. Despite really pushing himself, TK never saw gains in muscle. Researching why, he discovered it was his metabolism. He just burned up everything, and over time he got used to a certain pattern to how he ate, how much, when, and it was affected his workouts. He wasn't eating enough, and so when he tried to work out, nothing was filling the tears in the muscle. He would be sore, and not much else. So he needed to eat more, and more often.
He began eating 6 small meals throughout the day, including something called weight gainer powder made specifically for people like him. It worried his Dad, but TK pushed on. He put emphasis on protein, because that's what would build the muscle. But he would be sluggish and unenergetic. He figured by cutting fat, he would be making gains better without getting fat himself, but all this did was make him tired. His body needed the energy from fat in food, same with carbs. After weeks of trial and error, playing around to see what would give him more than enough protein while keeping his energy high, he settled on a routine that got him the surplus of protein he needed, plus the right amount of carbs and fat so he wasn't tired all the time. Within weeks, he was making gains, and with that, some self confidence, which was unexpected but welcome.
HUGE thank you to
